Maricopa County’s mission is to provide regional leadership and fiscally responsible, necessary public services so that residents can enjoy living in a healthy and safe environment.  The Board of Supervisors, along with other elected officers, creates a strategic plan every five years to align with the county mission.

OUR STRUCTURE

The County is governed by five elected district supervisors.  The Board of Supervisors appoints a county manager. The Board sets the agenda and approves a budget that allocates money to all departments and elected offices.  The county manager is the chief administrator of Maricopa County and oversees more than 40 appointed departments in carrying out the vision of the Board.  Maricopa County has several other elected officers who are responsible for managing their own operations and staff.
