Biography
Maria was born in 1839. She was the daughter of Frederick Schaumburg and Gertrude Von Hanau. Though the Grand Duke of Hesse-Darmstadt regarded William's marriage as morganatic and refused to recognize their offspring as legitimate Hessian princesShe and her children were granted the titles HSH Prince/ss of Ardeck after her divorce. She passed away in 1917.
