Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen insists they have an exciting future ahead.

The German, however, concedes the past season was a tough one for Barca.

He said, "After a difficult and unsatisfactory first half year, we put in a lot of effort and changed our situation.

"In the second half of the season, we entered into a good dynamic and secured the Champions League, which is very important.

"We need to be competitive in all competitions and all players can improve.

"I am positive for the next season, to continue on our way, we want to play better and win. Now my goal is to disconnect and rest, something I haven't been able to do in recent summers. Next season is important for both Barça and Germany, I'm looking forward to it."
