Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
The Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo is lauded for its cleanliness and enviable location near Shinjuku station, making it a convenient choice for many travelers. Despite the peaceful ambiance, some areas, particularly the South Tower, are considered dated and lacking in atmosphere. While the hotel's amenities generally receive praise, particularly the dining options and comfortable rooms, guests have called out the high cost of breakfast and additional fees for amenities such as pool access. Service is recognized as professional, but can feel impersonal and slow during busy periods. Room quality seems to be a hit or miss, with some offering spaciousness and impressive views while others are in need of an update.

We flew into Narita airport and got a quote from a taxi for over $200 so we went to the bus and they only charge half price for kids under 12 and free for 4 yr of lap children so it was perfect. The bus came regularly and dropped us off right in front of the hotel so it was really convenient. The lobby was beautifully decorated with these hanging dolls for a festival and there was tons of hand sanitizer. We checked into two rooms and they gave the kids these toiletry bags with little slippers and toothbrushes and they were so cute! The kids loved the robes in the room and the view of the metropolitan building. The rooms were big and didn’t feel like other hotels we stayed in Shinjuku. Great location as it was close to the shinjuku station and we had a great time finding the udon restaurants at 8 in the morning. We didn’t eat at the restaurants in the hotel but they looked really nice. I recommend the updated rooms.

Its a big hotel, staff are friendly (as all japanese people are) rooms were comfortable (3x in our room) and clean, we asked for non smoking room as we were told some rooms really smell. We ate out all the time as the prices in the restaurants looked expensive, Starbucks was only around the cnr (not that im a fan of this mob) and surprisingly they made really good coffee to start the day and there are a lot of little restaurants close by that are good. The hotel isnt far from Shinjuku Station about a 8min easy walk, we found there is a underground walkway to the east side of Shinjuku station if the weathers wet, it maybe a good option

This place is a luxury hotel with good service staffs. Room is clean and full of amenities. You can even find skincare set, tooth brush & tooth paste, soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion all in your bathroom! And the house keeping will keep your room clean and fill your amenities for everyday. We were staying in a room for 3 people, we heard about the hotel that it is old and has been popular for a long time. When we arrived at our room, It was new renovated very new beautiful modern style. We like it!

A very large hotel and close to everything in Shinjuku - about 10 minutes walk to Shinjuku station, 15 minutes walk to Golden Gai, Omoide Yokocho, Kabuchiko. We booked a Plaza Superior Queen room in the South Tower and it was very spacious. Room was clean and, contrary to some reviews here, it was nice and modern. Breakfast was a choice of Western buffet, or Western & Japanese buffet, or Japanese a la carte (3 different restaurants).
The rate was surprisingly reasonable for Tokyo.
Late checkout was available until 1.pm for JPY 5,500 or 3pm for JPY 11,000.
A major bonus is that the Airport Limousine bus drops off and picks up at this hotel, the concierge can make the booking for you.

We are not fans of huge (here 1400 room) impersonal hotels where the lobby is inevitably full of piles of luggage of arriving and departing guests with a short average length of stay. As this hotels go, the Keio Plaza is typical. Staff is friendly and helpful, but the scale of the place renders any personal service almost impossible. We stayed for two nights in a Club Level room on the 39th. floor of the main tower. The view was incredible, as was the view from the even higher 45th. floor club room. That room was also on a vast scale, although very well staffed, and required reservations for breakfast - presumably because of the large number entitled to eat the there. Staffed with many young Japanese the atmosphere was pleasant but the staff were remote, possibly because of the scale of the property and the somewhat reserved nature of their customs. The bedroom was clean and well equipped with amenities (apart from coffee and creamer for the in room coffee maker). The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet and could be blacked out. The bathroom was more than adequate and the shower was full force with a steady stream of water as hot as one could select and stand. The lavatory of course was the plush Japanese standard. Included breakfast was a vast buffet of Japanese and European/American selections with chefs ready and able to freshly prepare special dishes.

Room was of a reasonable size with a queen bed, writing table and a lounge chair. Bathroom was small but functional - toiletries were provided and the toilet seat was heated (very useful as the weather was quite cold). Bed was not exactly plush, but it was comfortable enough. Housekeeping can be improved (I noticed hair in the bathroom that is unlikely to be mine). Front desk and concierge service standards were generally very good. The hotel also provides airport limousine service (3200 yen, one way from hotel to Narita) but it stops at various hotels to pick up passengers. There is also a free shuttle service to Disneyland. Location is good as it is near Shinjuku station.

We were only meant to be here 3 nights but due to COVID 19 ended up spending 5 nights here before flying home early. It’s a fantastic hotel 5 star! Staff were all wonderful and I even got the most delicious birthday treat on arrival. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff proactive prompted you to use the hand sanitiser when re entering the hotel. Really easy to get around from here, we walked a lot but there is still plenty of public transport near by. I will stay here again and I highly recommend it!

This is a BIG hotel. And with such a big hotel you can worry about attention to detail. Worry not. We stayed for 5 nights and found the rooms to be very comfortable, and the hotel to be a great base from which to explore Tokyo. Firstly the location is great & an easy walk to/from Shinjuku station through a mostly pedestrianised area. There are lots of good eating options nearby as well as the lovely Shinjuku Chuo Park not far away. We also walked to Hirajuku & Yoyogi Park one day and caught the train back. We had two rooms between us. The Luxe Corner Queen room in the south tower was spacious and so quiet for a great night’s sleep. We had a separate shower recess (not over bath) & good toiletries were provided. A Nespresso machine was a bonus. Our son’s standard Queen room in the main tower was more modest in size but still comfortable and well-designed. We baulked at the cost of the breakfast buffet at the hotel but finding a Japanese style breakfast early in the day was a little challenging. We found the best options to be in the ‘food court’ basements of department stores (eg Lumine) and in the underground walkways of the station. If you’re happy with western style breakfasts (coffee, pastries) it will be easy to find something. All in all, a really good option for a base in Tokyo.

The staffs are very friendly and their service is very good. The hotel is located in the prime place that it makes your shopping easy. Metro near by helps you to cover all the places. The hot chocolate makes the breakfast menu complete. They have improved in their English communication as Olympics 2020 is on its way. Weather was too cold but manageable. We can shop winter clothes at a good price in UNICLO which is very near to the hotel... More importantly the wash room in the hotel is so good, u will feel the difference.. overall enjoyed staying at Japan...

Huge hotel about 7 mins walk from Shinjuku West exit. With lots of late night eateries around.
With alot of in-house amenities and great concierge such as Mochizuke-San who saw me struggling with TaQBin shipment and offer to help me, as well as the bell boys who are on the lookout for guest that needs assistance.
Laundromat in house allows you to wash and dry your clothes for just 500 yen.
Convenience of having Airport bus dropping off directly at the hotel.

And now to the cons...
Firstly, the soundproofing is really bad when you can hear your neighbors around you and from the level above you. And the loud noise from your neighbor slamming their door can be jarring.
Hard to get a good night sleep. This is the biggest drawback
Secondly, no steam iron and ironing board in the room
Thirdly, if you are seeing a very good rate on Agoda or third party website, do be careful as there may be condition (Housekeeping is only once every 8 days as you book on a discount rate) tied to it which is not clearly communicated until the last minute.

So Keio Plaza is a nice hotel only because of their frontline staff
