Tottenham transfer news: Spurs working to sign ‘very explosive’ winger

Tottenham Hotspur are working on a deal to sign Shakhtar Donetsk wide man Manor Solomon on a four-year contract.

Fulham loanee Manor Solomon could be staying in London with Tottenham Hotspur now hoping to secure his signature.

That is according to The Athletic, who report that Tottenham are leading the race to sign Solomon.

It’s claimed that Tottenham are working on a permanent deal for the winger after showing promise at Fulham.

The report notes that FIFA have ruled that all foreign players with Ukrainian clubs can suspended their contracts again.

Solomon intends to do just that but with his Shakhtar Donetsk contact ending in December, he can effectively join Spurs for free.

Shakhtar are understandably unhappy as they will lose Solomon and other players as a result of the ongoing conflict with Russia.

ONE in Solomon’s native Israel also claim that the winger seems to be heading for Tottenham this summer.

They claim that Tottenham plan to give Solomon a four-year deal and keep the wide man in London.

Solomon is understood to earn around £2.5million-a-year or £48,000-a-week, money that isn’t beyond Tottenham.

Manor Solomon move will divide opinion at Tottenham

You firstly have to question just who is making this decision anyway; Tottenham don’t have a manager or a director of football as things stand.

Solomon has also been through a rather mixed season with Fulham.

The 23-year-old has only started four Premier League games for Marco Silva and has played just 55 minutes in his last five games.

Solomon has shown talent though, enjoying a quite ridiculous run in February and early March as he scored in five consecutive games in all competitions.

That resulted in pundit Jamie Redknapp branding Solomon ‘very explosive’ back in March.

Solomon hasn’t shown that same goalscoring ability since though and Tottenham are putting a lot of faith in him to make a step up in North London.

The Israel International will likely feature as competition for Son Heung-min with Tottenham hoping to land a bargain addition.
