Manhunt underway after Tulsa police officers shot during traffic stop

Oklahoma authorities launched a manhunt Monday morning for an “armed and dangerous” suspect who allegedly shot two cops during a traffic stop, police said.

David Anthony Ware was stopped around 3:30 a.m. in east Tulsa and a “scuffle” ensued between him and the cops, the Tulsa Police Department said.

Ware allegedly pulled a gun on the officers and fired multiple times, authorities said.

Both cops were rushed to the hospital, where they are in critical condition and undergoing surgery, police said.

Ware fled on foot and remains on the loose, prompting authorities to warn residents to be “very aware of your surroundings.”

“If your dogs are barking, call us and we’ll come check it out,” police wrote on Facebook. “If he is willing to shoot at us, he is likely willing to shoot at anyone.”
