We develop collaborative critical thinkers that take on challenges and solve problems. At whatever “level” students enter, all students will graduate with the skills required to pursue their dreams to be innovators and change agents. Ensuring that we use student data, we as educators implement creative interventions by our own design to ensure thinking skills are practiced, developed, and assessed through tasks, inquiry, and research. We welcome families to engage in the development of their children by participating in conferences, presentations, and symposiums. Through imagination and innovation, every student in our care will succeed and excel at achieving any goal or dream they set. Together, we will build a great, big, beautiful tomorrow.

As a current junior, my experience at MCSM was transformative but emotionally challenging. Despite good education, many aspects of high school felt hollow. I once had a big friend group, but my circle dwindled because I tolerated mistreatment. Most students are kind and helpful, but a poor choice of friends can cause unpleasant experiences. Issues with the broader school culture expressed in the form of judgmental views and cyberbullying.
MCSM is great for STEM. Yet passive-aggressive teachers intimidated me to seek help. What I’d like to see change in is teachers to start to notice student decline. I was exceptional in school until one winter, and only one noticed my loss of motivation, and attention span. He believed in me, which was enough for me to excel. Sadly, I see less care from recent teachers.
MCSM changed me in many ways. Challenges were encountered; but so has growth and self-discovery. I carry optimism about creating a fulfilling life beyond the struggles of high school.

Manhattan Center of Science & Mathematics has brought me an amazing and supportive community that I am constantly proud to be apart of. It has amazing faculty that is extremely supportive and loving. Even though it is a school of about 1,600 students, the connections made within the entire community are personal and unique.
So far, my high school experience has been incredibly enjoyable. I've created numerous friendships and forged meaningful connections with many of the teachers. The majority of the staff members are highly reliable and easy going, contributing to the positive atmosphere. Additionally, we enjoy a considerable amount of freedom to establish and participate in various clubs which students in many other schools don't get. The only downside is that the academic rigor may not match up to some other schools in the city. Nevertheless, I'm grateful to have chosen Manhattan Center for Science & Mathematics as my high school.
