Overall I have a good experience with Mamaroneck High School. Teachers were always available to help out, and there were lots of resources to take advantage of. My only issue is that available opportunities often weren't easy to hear about until rather late; I felt that there was sometimes lack of clear communication between administration and the students.
As a current senior, I would say the Mamaroneck High school is challenging, but in a good way. Academics push you in this rigorous environment and teachers, counselors, and other resources are here to help. Majority of the teachers I have had are good, few being amazing, and very few in the entire building being bad. Some students are bratty, privileged, etc, but that is to be found in majority of schools, but in the end, a good amount of students are friendly and willing to help. However, when it comes to college, it can get pretty bad. As a student who was rejected from my first choice (with others in the school being accepted), I felt very down on myself after seeing many people including friends celebrate in school and on social media (at least for my class, a instagram page was made where people are congratulated for enrolling in college). From the new Co-Lab to the culinary room, this school has made some neat investments. In the end, I feel that this school is pretty good.
we love to party. there is a weird social hierarchy but mostly everyone is cool and interesting. honestly my classmates all were very memorable. a lot of messed up stuff happened but I have Mamaroneck pride. people are really annoying about sports and college. some really good teachers, some awful tenured teachers. assemblies were lit ash. we have fun traditions but they can be exclusive.
Mamaroneck High School is an overall best high school to attend. They have an enormous amount of various clubs to join, the faculty and students are very involved and the best school spirit. There are many sports you can participate in. Once a Tiger, always a Tiger. The worst part of my experience would be leaving the school when I graduate. I will miss everything about my school. I am so glad I the best education and experience at Mamaroneck High School.
Administration is horrible, unresponsive and out of touch with student needs. Generally very unkind and unhelpful with serious issues facing the student body. Wonderful teachers and great education, though.
To begin, I have spent 2 years at Mamaroneck High School since I moved during the start of sophomore year. I was able to meet people that shared similar interests and were very open minded as well as easy to talk to. And the teachers were mainly helpful and understanding. As many would always give out opportunities to raise grades and give feedback on assignments. However, I do feel that there is something that the school could work on which is diversity. When I first came to this school it was one of the first things that I noticed. I felt a bit of a division when I saw I was one of the few people of color in my classes. I think working to include more diversity would better the environment and increase inclusivity.
The teachers are all inconsiderate and the work load is wayyyy too much. Even guidance counselors can’t help you with the stress. People are mean and nobody does anything about it.
It's a school with many opportunities both in and out of the classroom. With many clubs and sports to choose from, there's a thing for everyone, which is great for experiential learning and finding friends.
Honestly I've had some pretty good teachers while here, I'm graduating soon so this is in my last month writing this. Even though high school can totally suck, it wasn't so bad here! I highly recommend taking the PACE program here!!!
Good school with lots of opportunities with a lot of good teachers, and great counselors and their are very academic classes.
I have 2 kids (currently in 9th and 12th) and I am so impressed with the education they are getting. Not exactly free--as we pay high taxes--but much more affordable than a private school. While the focus is definitely on academics, there is a place for everyone. I especially love that those who are not necessarily "STEM" kids do have opportunities to find and develop their "thing." My 12th grader, for instance, was in the video program and we have been blown away by this class--even through a teacher change. I also feel that while, yes, there is definitely some serious $ in Larchmont, this school is a bit more down-to-earth than others in the area. That of course doesn't mean it doesn't have its flaws. But overall, my kids and nearly every other child of a friend here has had a (mostly) positive experience.
The school is awesome teachers are understanding, easy to make friends in all grades. I transferred here during covid and the school was handling It very well even online. the campus is very good and they are very supportive of sports. There are many opportunities in this school all you have to do is take and work for them
I love mamaroneck high school and believe it is truly amazing however the only thing i would like is to just increase the diversity
Mamaroneck High was a great opportunity for me to gain confidence in myself throughout my four years here. As the last four years progressed, I realized I can do whatever I put my mind to. I continued to grow in my role on the varsity softball team as I climbed the ranks to my now role as starting shortstop and CAPTAIN of the team. This four year experience has allowed me to grow socially as well. So much so, that while at home during the pandemic, I pushed myself to exceed in many facets of my life. I established my own tie-dye company and actually had a recognizable brand in my local community as a result. Additionally, I collaborated with my good friend, also a softball player by the way, to create a summer camp for children 10 and under. Both endeavors have given me additional funds to allow me to do things my parents may not have had the money to spend for me.
Mamaroneck High School lets you explore areas of your own interest, and form wonderful connections with both students as well as teachers. It's an inviting and positive environment that motivates you to give it your best!
The school does a great job of keeping students motivated and providing education and resources for all students regardless of their diverse identities. There are many choices for extra curriculars, the music and sports departments are a big part of school culture and the classes are incredibly immersive and informative. Overall it is a really good school, one I've enjoyed attending for the past 4 years
Mamaroneck High school is a very unique place to learn. Our teachers are very helpful and knoowledgable, and our classmates are like no other.
