One Fewer Lighthouse To Visit This Summer

A note to those planning their trips specifically for visiting Maine lighthouses: The volunteer organization that maintains and operates the Marshall's Point Lighthouse in Port Clyde, ME (just south of Rockland), has announced that the lighthouse tower will not be accessible to visitors for the 2024 summer season. The tower is located at the end of a lengthy elevated walkway (as seen on their website) which was extensively damaged during some of the most severe winter storms ever to hit the Maine coast. The lighthouse museum will be open weekends in May and seven days a week beginning Memorial Day weekend.
