Its lush greenery and tree-lined avenues provide welcome respite from the city's bustle. We enjoyed discovering historical fountains, statues, and buildings throughout the park. The Palacio de Cristal often hosts art exhibitions and cultural events, which adds another interesting dimension. We could easily spend hours here relaxing by the lake or enjoying a picnic lunch. A true gem in the heart of Madrid!

We came as part of a large tour group, so we had a guide, but I would have rather just done the audio tour myself because the guide spent too long at the pictures she liked and then we had to rush thru the rest of them to keep on schedule with the tour (not the way I like to visit a museum). There are many masterpieces here so it is best to take your time and enjoy. Plan ahead by visiting the website to see what special exhibits there are and what paintings you want to see if you have limited time. Buy tickets ahead of time (there are combo tickets if you plan to go to other museums or royal palace) and read the museum guide and suggested itineraries online. There is a security lane that everyone must go through upon entry, so don't bring any large bags since they will make you store them in the coatroom and then you will need to get back in line. You can't take pictures either, so leave the big camera at home. It is a lovely museum and with proper planning, you will have an enjoyable visit.

Definitely a must see if you’re in Madrid.

The prices are reasonable and the crowds can build up later in the day so make sure you give yourself time to go through security.

The palace itself is very large however the tour is just a small part of it but indeed fascinating. There are Audio Units available to narrate and staff is present throughout. Many are very friendly and can answer questions about the areas you are seeing if you ask.

Photography is only allowed in a very small part of the tour so be prepared to put your phone down and just enjoy the decor and artwork. You won’t be disappointed at all.

We visited this museum on a Saturday in April in an off-season period. We were surprised to encounter a rather long queue at the entrance since our guide book said it was one of Madrids best kept secrets. Certainly not a secret anymore. And that is perfectly understandable because after about an hour waiting in line we were admitted entrance and found the museum itself was not crowded and it was a really good experience seeing both the gardens, the paintings and the house itself. We got an excellent impression of the artist, his time, his family and of course his art. Will go back if I get th
