UNC Football in the mix for 2022 four-star wide receiver

The UNC Football program made the cut for this four-star recruit’s top 15 list. Is an official visit to Chapel Hill in the works?

This week four-star recruiting target Andre Greene Jr. made a big update to his recruitment as we get set for what should be a wild month of June in terms of visits.

The class of 2022 wide receiver announced his top 15 list cutting down his list of 56 offers to these programs that he will be focusing on from here on out. .

Among the schools still in contention for his services include the UNC Football program.

Currently, 247 Sports ranks Greene Jr. as the No. 32 ranked wide receiver prospect in his recruiting class. He also is viewed as the 11th best player from the state of Virginia.

Although he announced his top 15 list, it appears that 16 schools are still in the mix. Shortly after tweeting his top 15 list, Greene Jr. followed by tweeting out an additional photo, this one featuring his top schools as well as campuses he plans on visiting in the near future.

The good news is that Greene Jr. has an official visit to Chapel Hill already scheduled. Along with the Tar Heels, Georgia, Notre Dame and Oregon have also secured official visits at this point in time.

Additionally, there are a handful of schools that have unofficial visits scheduled, including Clemson, who was not listed among the finalists in Greene Jr.’s original post. With the addition of Clemson, Greene Jr. is planning on visiting 16 campuses during his recruitment period.

The good news for the Tar Heels is that Greene Jr. and his family already have a trip to North Carolina booked on their schedule. There’s a chance that Mack Brown and company can lure the Richmond, VA native to commit before he’s able to go visit the majority of the schools on his list.

It is still very early in his recruiting process, considering there are still a handful of teams in the mix and a bunch of visits to be made, but it looks as if North Carolina is very much in contention for Greene Jr.’s services.

If Mack Brown can get a commitment from Greene Jr., the UNC football program would have two of the top 32 ranked wide receivers in the class making their way over to Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels already have a commitment from No. 25 ranked Tychaun Chapman, and one from Greene Jr. would definitely help bolster the team’s wide receiver core.
