I have lived in Lynwood for 17 years and it's not very safe to walk around alone due to the increasing number of homeless people and drug users. As a teen who often travels two miles to get home, I am always very cautious of my surroundings. There are days when I have to take many detours in order to avoid drug users which makes my trip home longer.
I’m living in lynwood since 8 months and there are both pros and cons. The good things are everything is very convenient like you can find restaurants and grocery stores easily in walking distance. Also at the same time I don’t find it very safe especially at night, it is very dark low lights everywhere and if you are staying alone it feels unsafe. There is not much diversity observed in the area.
Lynwood Schools cares about students' education and wants to ensure students get into the top colleges. The city of Lynwood has nice and clean areas, but some areas need improvement.
I have a love hate relationship with my city. Everywhere its either riddled with crime, homelessness, conflicts/gang affiliation, or both. The school system is in in pretty poor condition so I travel to Downey High School, almost 30 minutes away. Before as a kid I didn't notice everything wrong, but I was a kid, how was I supposed to know? I would love to study something like engineering or architecture so I can figure out how to improve things around this area to make my hometown a better place, for children and adults so they don't have to struggle as much as I have
I love how the community is open to everyone and loves to celebrate the holidays of minority. The community is always making events for families to attend which are free.
I love living in Lynwood, it has always been my home. There are many amazing restaurants and local shops that can not compare to anywhere else. This city is full of love and culture. Despite the fact that we may not come from very much, we push each other to become the best possible versions of ourselves.
I have been living in lynwood ca since 1992 and haven't seen no big improvement. It's sad that I rather go spend my money in surrounding cities.
Everything is close by and there are many things to do! Lots of grocery stores and local cities are easy to go to. Housing is good.
The city of Lynwood is a great community because we have met more diversity in the school of Lynwood. One thing I will change is by going to the city hall and having a meeting about fixing the park, more protection, cleaning the street, and creating some goals in our community.
I was born here in city of Lynwood and I have an overall great experience over the phone. I have been in the language unified school District for about five years and all of the teachers are very nice they are there to help you feel more like a friend rather than a teacher.Over on the residential living space very great everything is very close to here and you don’t have to go to berry farm to look at anything.
Lywood is where I grew up and is where I still live today its a small city and there are many great people that I have met here over the course of years. Its not a perfect city, what I enjoy most about lynwood are the parks and carnivals we have alot of the times over the years what I dislike is how dangerous it sometimes is walking out alone in the day sometimes makes me uncomfortable from the many homeless and dangerous looking people there are.
Living in the city of Lynwood is okay. The city has good schools and the overall neighbors in the area are nice. However, I'd like for law enforcement to be more involved in the city since this is an area where crimes occur at times. I know it's not a city like Beverly Hills, but, we also deserve to be in a safe city as much as those in wealthier cities.
Lynwood is a great community where people can be cooperative and understanding of each other. You have what you need here such as diversity, education, and support. This is where I grew up and I am proud of this community for helping me succeed every day. Yes, it is a low-income city but that doesn't stop us from achieving our goals or accomplishments. We have opportunities guaranteed for us here and additional help when needed.
I grew up here it’s home. My family and I moved around 11 years ago. I was in 1st grade. It’s were Ive met my besties.
I recently purchased a home in lynwood and enjoy it more than DTLA. Lived in Hollywood and luxury housing, but having a home with a yard is worth it.
The majority of neighbors throughout the city are very respectful and kind. Also, there is a Tierra Mia Coffee shop located in the hub of the city that has very delicious treats.
This is my home. It is a city meant to be in the perfect location between the beach and downtown Los Angeles. However, there can tend to be quite a bit of traffic, but that is usual. It is pretty populated and have grown up here for a long time. There are fellow latinos around the neighborhood so it is a mostly spanish speaking dominated area. The schools here are not the greatest but I am thankful kids and I have access to public education. Being in a setting like this, not poor but not rich, allows for one to be grateful for what we hae and only work harder for our future. Or even see what we want to fix in our community to help. Overall, this city often not known until we mention it is near Compton or Downtown, it is a nice community of people living life.
