Lula Mae Maxey has stayed out of the limelight as much as possible. She hardly made any public appearances and has not been in the news lately. Her ex-husband Dale Robertson passed away on February 27, 2013, at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, California, from lung cancer and pneumonia.

Dale Robertson had relocated to the San Diego area due to his declining health. He died at the age of 89 years. Before his death, he was a host of a radio program dubbed Little Known Facts, which was broadcast on 400 radio stations.
