Spoilers follow for the movie Ma.

As a general rule, Hollywood celebrities want to keep footage of their private parts well away from the public eye—and they certainly don't want feedback. But actor Luke Evans, who appears in horror thriller Ma, wants to know what fans think of his part in the film. Specifically, a controversial full frontal nude scene.

After the film's release, he posted a tweet asking whether people were "wondering" about an especially harrowing scene in the movie, in which the titular Ma (a deliciously unhinged Octavia Spencer) ties his character Ben to a bed and tortures him.

In the visceral scene, Ma strips Ben of his clothes and ties him to her four poster bed. Ben is an old crush who humiliated her back in high school, and so the viewer knows this is going nowhere good. And indeed, it doesn't: the scene swiftly escalates when Ma grabs Ben's penis with one hand, while brandishing a knife with other.

It was a moment that would have had every man in the theater involuntarily crossing his legs, but you know what, we're going to still call this a win for gender parity in Hollywood. Female full frontal nudity is far more common in mainstream cinema, whether that be for titillation purposes, or to show the brutalization of women's bodies. Evans' wild role in Ma tips the scale ever so slightly—although the actor remains coyly tight-lipped as to whether that was all him, or a body double.

In addition to stripping down in Ma, Evans is also currently starring with Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler in Murder Mystery on Netflix, and in Luc Besson's action thriller Anna, out June 21.
