This area has some of the best restaurants in Lucknow - Moti Mahal, Shukla, Sharmaji, Royal Cafe, Bajpayee, Dastarkhwan etc. Also has excellent shops for chikan like Ada. Some excellent buildings like Vidhan Sabha are walkable.
The place is in the metro route.Written March 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The grandeur of its architecture left me awestruck, as intricate designs adorned every corner. As I wandered through the labyrinthine Bhul Bhulaiya, echoes of centuries-old whispers seemed to linger in the air, adding to the mystique of this magnificent structure. The sheer scale of the Imambara's halls and courtyards left me humbled, evoking a sense of reverence for the artisans who crafted this marvel. From its imposing Rumi Darwaza to the serene calm of the Asafi Masjid, every element spoke volumes of Lucknow's rich heritage and cultural legacy. A visit to the Bara Imambara is not just a journey through history, but a soul-stirring experience that resonates long after you've left its hallowed halls.Written March 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - akghosalStoke-on-Trent, UK74 contributionsQuite interesting and a nice area of ruins for a former site from the British Empire & colonialism era of India, with evidence of the Indian freedom struggles for Independence (especially with the bullet holes in the walls). Although some of the buildings were in a state of disrepair (although as they are ruins, it didn't matter much), it was nevertheless nice to look at and the garden areas were beautiful and relatively well maintained.Written March 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Go096549455281 contributionExcellent place. We visited at the time of morning arti. One complaint...... The person singing arti was singing at the pitch of his voice that too on a mike resulting in a cacophony, instead of being beautiful to hear. If he sings, instead of shouting, arti would have been more divine. Pujari ji was much much more better to hear.Written September 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
