Teddy Pendergrass – Love Language

After "Teddy Pendergrass" suffered his tragic automobile accident, there was so much uncertainty on if he would even want to have a career in Music anymore...Two years later, and with a mountain of support from Family and the Music Community (including inking a Record Deal with "Elektra/Asylum Records"), "Teddy" bravely went into the studio and recorded "Love Language"...

Now, I will say that, even with the album being slightly uneven, it was a GREAT effort from this man!!!!!!

The album starts off with the emotional "In My Time" (written by "Cynthia Weil" and "Michael Masser")...It's kind of a song of reflection for "Teddy", and you can easily hear it in his Vocals (and it was good enough to be the 1st Crown Jewel)....

"So Sad The Song" (also by "Cynthia Weil" and "Michael Masser") follows the same pattern as "In My Time", but it wasn't as strong....

"Hold Me" (featuring an up and coming "Whitney Houston"), is a return to form of some sorts for "Teddy"....Even though his Vocals no longer Roars, it still carries a smooth allure, which is why this was the 2nd Crown Jewel....

Now, the Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate, Ultimate Crown Jewel in "You're My Choice Tonight (Choose Me)", was THE BOMB!!!!!!! Written by "Mr. Luther Vandross" along with "Mr. Bass Man Marcus Miller", this smooth joint was perfect for what "Teddy's" Vocals had become, Smooth and Sultry!!!!! It was constantly on the radio, and I'm sure it gave the confidence that "Teddy" needed!!!!

"This Time Is Ours" (the last Crown Jewel also written by "Cynthia Weil" and "Michael Masser"), was a nice ending for the album...

Well, there you go...This album did very well in the "R&B" market, making things very bright for "Teddy"...I am also sure that the "Teddy Fans" were ecstatic as well!!!! This proved that no matter how tragic things can become, if determined you can overcome it..."Teddy" not only prove that with this album, but in his life as well!!!!!
