Persuasion is the last novel fully completed by Jane Austen. It was published at the end of 1817, six months after her death.The story concerns Anne Elliot, a young Englishwoman of 27 years, whose family is moving to lower their expenses and get out of debt, at the same time as the wars come to an end, putting sailors on shore. They rent their home to an Admiral and his wife. The wife’s brother, Navy Captain Frederick Wentworth, had been engaged to Anne in 1806, and now they meet again, both single and unattached, after no contact in more than seven years. This sets the scene for many humorous encounters as well as a second, well-considered chance at love and marriage for Anne Elliot in her second "bloom".

About the Author

If you don’t want to read it yourself audible can help and if your too cheap for that YouTube has a decent reader for this book as well. Give it a shot!

I don't know who the heck published this but it's terrible. From the outside looking like someone stole artwork and just enlarged it to cover it up to the paragraphs not being indented. This is not how Jane Austen would want her work to be read. It aggravates. Even the margins are so small that your eyes are overwhelmed. It's just terrible. The publisher should be ashamed.

I'm a little scared to start reading this thing. If this is a legit authorized copy (and that's doubtful) it's the worst kind of photoshopped graphics I've ever seen on a paperback book. Save your money, buy a hard cover and enjoy this story without the freakish. floating. third. hand.

The book it's self is wonderfully written. The product is awful. This is very difficult to read because the print is very small and when the book was bound, the margins were not taken into account so the pages almost disappear into the crease. I find myself lying in bed trying to pry the book open more with every turn of the page. Very frustrating.

This 1 star is for this terrible edition of a fabulous book. It is so cheaply made it is practically unreadable. The print is tiny and sentences run on and on without breaks in paragraphs. It was a total waste of money and it’s already in the trash unread. I have an English degree and it pains me to throw out a book but as excited as I was to re-read this great book, my aggravation at the awful print job made it necessary.
