The Emmys proved to be an emotional night for Bracco as she paid tribute to her late costar James Gandolfini, who died at age 51 in 2013, before she and Imperioli presented the best supporting actress in a drama series award to Jennifer Coolidge.

"And speaking for Michael, myself and the entire cast and crew, it was an honor working with Sopranos creator David Chase and, of course, the great James Gandolfini," a teary Bracco said.

Earlier in the week, Bracco shared with PEOPLE at the cast's 25th anniversary celebration in New York City on Wednesday that Gandolfini was always a prankster on set.

“Oh my God. He would make such jokes, he would fool around, he would dance around,” she said. “He was very fun.”
