(100 Norwegian krona. ) The description and history of Svalbard is very interesting, and if you can spare the time to read the details you will learn a lot more. There is even a makeshift narrow coal miners tunnel that you can actually crawl into and get the feeling of what it was like. - leniii24943 contributionsNot just a beautiful church, but a place for the community. Everyone is welcome, whether for a church service or other events (e.g. toddler group).
The church has its own small (souvenir) shop. If you’re interested in this history, definitely book the guided tour—the museum might be confusing without the tour, but with it, I learned so many interesting and unique stories about the explorers (and one spunky little dog!). Having removed our footwear, we headed upstairs.
Very modern cafe serving excellent coffee, cakes etc. we stayed that long that we had a second coffee!
Free WiFi.
We didn’t go into the exhibition side, nice quality gifts for sale.
Don’t miss it, it looks nothing from the outside.

- Nolan M1 contributionAn amazing company. Not only is their transportation prompt and effective, but they are incredibly kind and helpful. I left my headphones on a bus, and they were able to locate and return them them 3 days later and deliver them to my hotel promptly (including searching the buses I had taken), saving me several hundred dollars. - jamie g1 contributionI spent 8 days in Svalbard and visited each and every store. Barbara’s is by far the best place to purchase something you will cherish for the rest of your life. The photos, prints and local art works are truely beautiful. I purchased 2 framed photos and they were packaged for travel at no extra charge . They survived 3 flights and even the Australian baggage handlers. It’s worth visiting even if you don’t purchase anything .
