Jack Bruce, a force of nature himself. I think Hendrix was from another Planet...:righton:

this issue was addressed in journalists Dan Muise’s book. It’s been many years since I read it but I think Jack was already busy enough with his own group at the time

Growing up, I never really gave In City Dreams and Caravan To Midnight much of a chance (I always skipped from Long Misty Days to Victims Of The Fury - which is an underrated gem). As I’ve gotten older, I have come to really appreciate them especially their funkiness.

I’d never heard Robin Trower (or heard of him) until I started seeing threads here like this one, and I recently found a cheap copy of Bridge of Sighs. Great record! Liked it instantly. Not quite my style of music but it all comes together so well. Amazing recording. For what it’s worth (not much) after seeing all the back and forth on this thread, I don’t think of Hendrix when listening to this. It seems much tighter, more controlled, less psychedelic and more focused. There’s almost something JJ Cale-like about this, in terms of how lean and forceful it is. Though obv the Hendrix stuff is there, just not what comes to mind for me.

Hmm, interesting take on this artist. Don't think I've
ever heard him compared to JJ Cale before.

Yes ,"less psychedelic more focused" I agree with you because its 1974,if Hendrix was Alive in 1974,his music Will be diferent too.

    Love this era!

    1. Long Misty Days
    2. Twice Removed from Yesterday
    3. Victims of the Fury
    4. Bridge of Sighs

These would be the albums that I wouldn't part with.
