Peter Wolf's clean and crisp production approach was somewhat hit-and-miss with the material on Lou Gramm's second solo release. "Warmest Rising Sun" sounds best. "Just Between You and Me" and "True Blue Love" fare well, however rockers such as "Angel With a Dirty Face" and my personal favorite, "I'll Know When It's Over," have virtually no low-end and are left sounding sterile, stripped of the power Mutt Lange would have provided. Still, the songs are decent - perhaps a bit better than _Ready or Not_ - and Lou continues to deliver with his signature resonant lower register as well as his hard-edged upper vocal range. Nils Lofgren and Vivian Campbell are welcome guests.
