This twisted and obsessive love story follows Syd (Chris Evans), a strung-out, wealthy 20-something whose life is about to go from meaningless to futile. After a massive binging and drug spree, he awakes to the news that he is about to lose his "one true love" London (Jessica Biel) forever: Syd's ex-girlfriend is moving from New York to Los Angeles. Syd has one more chance to win her back, tonight, at her going-away party. Syd stocks up on cocaine and goes off to the party with Bateman (Jason Statham), a young English banker/part time drug dealer he's just met. Throughout the evening, however -- punctuated by regular drug breaks in the bathroom -- we discover that Syd's relationship problems involve more than friction with his girlfriend. London, a film written and directed by Hunter Richards, warns against the allure of cocaine as protagonist Sid (Chris Evans), loses his girlfriend, London, and also loses his mind from drug use. Set mostly in a bathroom at London's going away party, the film features Sid doing coke with various model-type chicks, while mustering up courage to go downstairs and make peace with his ex-girlfriend. London (Jessica Biel) instigates their breakup after sleeping around and failing to help Sid's depression, culminating in his suicide attempt. Sid's angst builds in the bathroom, as he gets higher, creating a tortured scenario reminiscent of Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. Finally, Sid faces London and starts a chaotic brawl. A side-plot involves Bateman (Jason Stathham), the coke dealer devoted to counseling Sid. Bateman soothes Sid's pain by describing the real frustration of impotency, manifesting itself in a love for S&M clubs. With such a simplistic plot, London is as devoid of logic as the lifestyle it glamorizes, making its pointlessness ingeniously vapid. Sid's quest for sanity is difficult to empathize with, since hes an egotistical, drug-addled loser. Sid repeatedly questions the existence of God between scenes of his failed relationship with London, obviously linking his heartbreak and his loss of faith. At its worst, London portrays a shallow, juvenile couple's inability to resolve personal issues. After three months, I finally opened up London--not the city--the movie, starring Chris Evans (Fantastic Four, Cellular), Jessica Biel (7th Heaven, Stealth), Jason Statham (The Italian Job, Crank).

Thinking this movie would be as boring as all hell, and to be perfectly honest, buying it because of the names on the cover. And let's face--Jessica Biel...wow!

Boring was something this movie was not.

It's a love, a real world, backstreet love story. Sex, drugs and boos are part of the ultimate package.

Syd (Evans) is on the verge of self-destruction with drugs and boos, realizing his lost relationship with London (Biel) was harder on him than he thought it would be.

I've never seen Jessica Biel in such raw form; aside from the fantastic acting by the entire cast, the storyline written by director, Hunter Richards.

This is love on the breaking point of all breaking points.

I can highly recommend this movie and be very confident that if you do rent or buy it, you'd be satisfied with the result.

A great cast in this edgy party of a movie. The protagonist is the lovelorn ex-boyfriend of London, who is moving away tomorrow after this night's going-away party. Flashbacks fill in enough of the past, cocaine lines, alcohol, and therapeutic existentialism occupy most of the action for the bulk of the film. The acting is superb, the content racy and provocative, the dialogue tinged with humor and the pace of cutting from scene to scene make this an enjoyable endeavor.

I'm so glad I read the reviews and as a result had low expectations when starting this movie. I honestly liked it. It's very real. The drugs, to me, aren't even necessary except cinematically they give the actors something to do as they think about their baggage. The movie would likely be pretty boring if they had nothing to physically do as they did their thinking. I'm one hour, 9 minutes into it and just finished the Jason Statham bathroom scene where he unleashes the primary reasons for his internal anguish. I found myself smiling. I had to leave a review after that scene. I'm hoping it finishes satisfactorily. I would recommend this movie to others IF they're in an introspective/contemplative mood and they like real people problems.

(What I don't understand is why the description of the movie reads that it is starring Paula Patton. Uh, hardly. Jessica Biel's name should be there with Chris and Jason's names, and there are some other great actors with roles much larger than Paula's. I have nothing against Paula. It's just very inaccurate.)

No character development, a stupid climax, and adults behaving like children. Slap a photo of Jessica Biel on a wall and read her poems for more entertainment.

The very realistic conversation between him and Chris later in the bathroom was brilliant. I knew Statham had it in him and it was a joy to watch him act.

This movie has a good cast and the acting is good as is the writing so it’s worth watching for that. But 80% of the movie occurs in a bathroom listening to an over-jealous, clueless, and controlling ex-boyfriend whine and complain to several different people about the situation he created through his own ignorance and insecurity, and it gets old. The movie finally opens up toward the end, but that was too late for me despite the other good aspects of this movie and the ending wasn’t worth the wait.

If you had a long term relationship, you are deppressed and there is a chance to see your EX at a party, this is the movie for you so you can learn the mistake that the main character did(Chis Evans).

London(Jessica Biel) is about a girl that is moving out of the country and the whole movie is about her psychotic insecure boyfriend(Chis Evans) who happens to go to her GO AWAY party and spends 90 percent of the movie in the bathroom doing Cocaine like there is no tomorrow because he is so insecure to see her and speak with her after they've broken up months ago.

In the end, they talk but it doesnt have a Walt Disney ending.

What I find funny is that after London and her boyfriend(Chis Evans) talk for a few and agree to take her London(Jessica Biel) to the airport, he is just one of those men that wont TELL her ex how much he loves her and never did. He did up until the very end but it was too late. The guy was such an idiot that could say "I LOVE YOU...DON'T GO AWAY...STAY WITH ME". But unfortunately if insecurity and drugs kick in, theyll be stronger than any inner demons he may have.

I'm not Giacomo Cassanova De Seignalt, but I feel very sorry for men in real life that face these situations and just WONT FACE THE MUSIC and open their heart to someone they really LOVE.

I'll have to give this a 2 because the plot is very slow and you need 2 shots of very STRONG CUBAN COFFEE to keep you AWAKE!
