About
Located along the Thames River, this iconic observation wheel offers unobstructed views from its glass pods. During the 30-minute ride, you'll be able to see London's well-known buildings like Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and The Shard. On a clear day, you can see up to 25 miles from the top—where Windsor Castle is. Sunset views here are otherworldly, but nightfall views of the twinkling lights are great too. London Eye can be reached easily by taking the Tube to Waterloo station. You might want to buy fast-track passes online in advance to skip the queues. – Tripadvisor

1st trip to London, London Eye was fun
Very smooth operation. Can't really see the whole city, it's basically hovering over Big Ben and Parliament. You can see some other things like the Shard. But it moves really really slow, about 30 minutes to get all the way around. Lots of time to take photos. However, be aware if you are with a group, there is an AUTO PHOTO shortly before you come in for a landing. It's on the left side of the car, if you want to get all your folks together and be ready for this photo. I had a large family in my pod and they were not aware of this and were upset they did not get a group photo on the pod. BILL S, Savannah, GA, USA

    Brilliant VIP experience!
I booked the VIP champagne experience for myself and my husband and once the coronation was announced we were upgraded to the coronation capsule! We got to sit on the throne and wear the crown in the capsule while taking in breathtaking panoramic views of London. The standout was our host Arnie - he was amazing! A great sense of humour, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and a brilliant photographer. He made sure everyone was included and had brilliant memories to take away with them. I absolutely recommend this experience to anyone visiting London.
Thanks for leaving a review about your trip to the lastminute.com London Eye. We agree – the Coronation Pod is totally the way to go to make your flight extra special. Thank you for taking the time to celebrate with us! We will let Arnie know that you made their experience special! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. Great view, but not on a rainy day
The line moved relatively quickly which was nice as it was raining. Which brings us to the drawback of our visit. Because it was raining it was very hard to see out of the pod and taking good pictures was practically impossible. Again, not recommended to visit during a holiday as we did for Easter.

We pre-booked tickets online and were a few minutes early for our time slot, but the staff were happy to let us on following security checks. The views were stunning, and the weather was kind enough to let us see for miles. This is well worth the experience.

Good experience but pod seemed like too many people
The queue was extremely long, but as my sons have a nimbus card we were allowed to use the accessibility line which really helped. The staff members we met were all friendly, helpful and polite. I do think they put too many people into a pod, (but can understand why) as wasn't able to move freely round as everyone was crowded in the same area and my children couldn't always see out. However it was a good experience and they enjoyed going so high up.

Must do, must do in London. What a view.
We didn't have to queue for too long as pre-booked. Staff were kind and helpful. It was busy but ok. The view from the eye is pretty amazing and this is one of those must do attractions in the United Kingdom. I find the price pretty good for what it is.

    1st trip!
Ist time on the eye, fast queuing system, around 10 people in capsule, Air con, plenty of room. Around 20 mins trip, great views of London. Recommended if you haven't done it.
Thanks for spending time flying with us. Glad you had fun soaking up the sights of London from the most unique point of view! Please come back again soon! Kind Regards, Helga Customer Services Team The lastminute.com London Eye

    Well worth doing once
Well worth doing when the weather cooperates. We were there on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon and had a great view. It was very crowded, but they did a pretty good job of organizing the lines. As others have mentioned, the time on your ticket is the time you are "allowed" to get in line. Because it was so crowded, they were sending different time groups to separate roped off areas to queue. Ultimately that worked well. I was a little jealous of the fast track people, and it may be worth it if you're solo or maybe a couple., but it gets very expensive for a family. I think they say they put 25 people in each pod, but we had 30. It looked like the fast track groups had under 20. Even with 30 people we were able to easily move around the pod and get all of the photos we wanted. We were there on an extremely hot day, and I was concerned that inside the pod would feel like an oven despite the claims of air conditioning. Happy to say that wasn't the case. If you stand on either side of the pod you can be in the direct AC flow, but even at the ends it was cool enough. Within my group, we had one person who is afraid of heights and another who suffers from motion sickness. I'm happy to say neither had any problems on the London Eye. The wheel moves so slowly that motion wasn't a problem (the pods don't move freely), and no problem with the height.

    Well worth it
My family, including two teenage daughters, did this on our first day in London and loved it. Great views over the city. An opportunity to see lots of the familiar landmarks and a nice pace too. Wasn’t sure if I should splash out on this but it was well worth it. Recommended.

Excellent experience , a must do in London
Easy access, very nice experience, beautiful views.. we had a very good time, reached before time with pre booked tickets. Could access from the faster line and were allowed to enter before time which saved us a lot of time. The pace was good and the sights were spectacular. Number of people per pod was also optimum.
Thanks so much for the 5* review. Sounds like you really made the most of your trip to London, soaring through the heart of the city! We really hope you can come and visit us again soon. We bought the tickets through the Hop on Hop off tour that gives you 20% off on a combo pricing. You then have to stand in a line to redeem that voucher at the London eye for tickets. If you are planing on visiting after 10am, better plan for at least 2 to 3 hours before getting on the Ferris wheel. If you have a stroller with you, be careful as it gets extremely crowded as the day goes by. If you can afford it, always get an upgrade for 10Pounds, totally worth it...cuts your waiting time to 10 minutes. And as always, never visit without checking the weather. The city is beautiful when it is sunny.

The London Eye is overpriced. The Sky Garden is free (you can get a reservation but can also go and just stand in a fast moving line for the ride to the top (34 floors up). 360 degree incredible views of the city at your leisure, pretty walk around areas, restaurants, places to just sit and enjoy the view. Take a lunch. Buy a meal or drinks. Stay a s long as you want. It's jaw dropping - go!

Fantastic! This was our first time in one of these giant wheels, and it was well worth it! We purchased our ticket through one of the local tourist offices for 29 Pounds, but had it been during a peak tourist season, we would have purchased the Fast Pass with the 4 pound Champagne addition. Since it was Fall, there was no need for a Fast Pass, but with the measly 4 Pound Champagne addition to the 10 Pound Fast Pass seems to make the Fast Pass and Champagne a bargain treat, but we didn't know about it at the time.

The EYE itself just after sunset on a clear cold night was fantastic...All of London at your feet...What a wonder! With our non-specific-time ticket, we could choose our time, and we definitely made the right choice. Definitely choose to go when the sky is clear. The night time view was great, but I imagine the day time view, while not as spectacular, would be more educational for getting your London City bearings.

We bought our tickets online to skip the lines - which was very worth it since many people waited really long. The price might seem a bit expensive, but the amazing view is definitely worth it! I also recommend you to pick a time just before the sun is about to set - it’s magical!

I don’t recommend you to buy a photo afterwards as a memory - the pictures turn out really dark when they print them and are barely visible. Instead, I recommend you to take as many pictures yourself while in the Eye.

Basically, for £30 you get to see some historic buildings, railway lines and modern offices and hotels from various different angles. It's been up 20 years and I've kept meaning to visit but not got around to it until now. I wish I'd saved my cash. Also, the people who load the pods are pretty disorganised and the security is slack.

I was very lucky to have beautiful weather when I was in London and booked a 40 minute river cruise and 30 minute London Eye trip through Trip Advisor for £30 which I considered reasonable. I picked the 11.45 cruise and also booked the London Eye for 1.15 as recommended by another travellers review on here. I had no problem getting onto the Eye and it was perfect. I'm not good with heights but the capsules are so secure and move so slowly, I was able to stand right by the glass. The views were amazing and there's plenty of time to take many photographs. The staff were friendly and courteous and as I use a stick helped me on and off. A wonderful experience.

Booked a private pod experience as a couple. Initially I was concerned as it states a minimum of three adults must be present, however no questions asked on entry and the two of us were fine. Anyone thinking of booking the couples experience or engagement pod then just stick to the private pod - it’s cheaper and just the same! There was a big queue for temperature checks due to coronavirus and we wasn’t sure if this was the fast track. Upon approaching the security guard towards the front of the big queue m he ushered us past the big queue and into our own small fast track queue which took us about 3-4 minutes to get onto the eye rather than the 30-45 it was taking others. We were subject to a quick bag search and ushered past everyone else into our own private pod. Absolutely seamless.

The views are spectacular.

At the end of the experience a cleaner goes into each pod to sanitise which was really good to see. They are clearly keeping everyone as safe as possible.

Definitely a must for the first time visitors to London. By the flexible ticket so that you can choose when you want to during the day. The ticket is only valid for that particular day of reservation. Due to unpredictable weather in London the best advice would be to have a flexible ticket since you can choose the time According to the weather conditions.

London Eye offers a lovely, romantic and breathtaking experience and view of London. It was truly captivating since it is one of the world’s tallest observation wheel and for over a decade, it was considered at top visitor experience in London! Fascinating isn’t?

If I can remember it correctly it cost around £30.00

What you’ll experience:

You will be inside a capsule and you will feel gently increasing excitement as you rise up over the water (Thames). You will be able to see the Houses of Parliament and the Big Ben (which was under construction at the moment).

Up there, you will be mesmerised with the 360 degree views of the lovely city of London while you will gradually rotate. You will have a view of known landmarks - St. Paul’s Cathedral, The Buckingham Palace and even the tower of London!

Lines might be long but you have an option to purchase ticket beforehand to skip the queue.

Best to visit on a bright sunny day towards the afternoon so you’ll have a more romantic view of the sunset and of the city lights.

We visited mid week during the summer holidays as a family with a 9 year old.

We all really enjoyed the experience and the views were spectacular. We were lucky enough to have pre booked our tickets for a sunny and clear day. I doubt we’d have enjoyed so much on a grey, wet day; of which, there are many here in the UK!

When we arrived there was a huge queue, however we were pleasantly surprised to see how quickly it moved. We were shown to a pod very quickly and given the binoculars we’d pre bought. The binoculars cost £5 each and were terrible quality! A complete waste of money. Considering the price of the tickets, we think these should be supplied free.

There’s no getting around it - tickets for this attraction are very expensive. The experience lasted about 30 minutes. We are glad we did it and we really enjoyed but we know others in our pod were disappointed so we’d recommend that prospective visitors weigh up cost against the experience.
