Former Percy Jackson star Logan Lerman has voiced his support for the new television adaptation on Disney+, saying that he wants to catch up on all the episodes in the first season.

Speaking with Access Hollywood, Lerman was asked about Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which debuted on Disney+ last year. "I haven’t seen it yet," Lerman shared. "I do want to see it though, and it looks really good." Lerman was also asked if he'd be open to making a return as Percy Jackson in some capacity, and the actor refused to rule out a comeback. “I mean, maybe," Lerman said. "I’m open to things."

'Gonna Have to Deal With [It]': Percy Jackson EP Addresses Recasting Lance Reddick's Role
With Percy Jackson and the Olympians renewed for Season 2, the show's EPs have addressed the challenge of recasting Lance Reddick's role as Zeus.

Logan Lerman played the title character in two Percy Jackson movies, first in Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. Lerman then reprised his role for Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters. Although the second film in particular underperformed upon release, failing to match the box office success of the first movie, Lerman has developed a cult following for his time as the lead character in the adaptations of the YA novels.

Percy Jackson Spin-Off Movies Have Been Canceled

Author Rick Riordan, who penned the acclaimed Percy Jackson book series, recently shared the news that The Kane Chronicles, a planned spin-off movie, has been scrapped by Netflix. "Right now, Kane Chronicles is in 'turnaround,' which means Netflix has decided not to move forward," Riordan said. "Their option has lapsed after trying for two years to develop a script they liked. Now it depends on whether another studio would like to step in, assume the pre-production costs, and move forward."

Percy Jackson, The Forbidden Children, Explained
Percy Jackson is considered the Forbidden Child of the Greek god Poseidon, but Percy Jackson and the Olympians has several other Forbidden Children.

Riordan went on to clarify why Netflix opted not to move forward with the adaptation of the boot. "This is not at all unusual," he said. "It happens, I would guess, with the majority of film projects. Also, the streaming industry as a whole is shrinking their development slate right now, meaning they are canceling more content and making less content. Kane got caught in that trend, despite the strong success of Percy TV."

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is streaming now on Disney+.
