      Locked Down

      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Locked Down combines a heist caper, a relationship drama, and pandemic-era timeliness to produce a film that's frustratingly less than the sum of its parts.

Andy B Really nice concept and beautifully delivered by the leads. No idea why this is badly rated, I really enjoyed it, and got the distinct feeling the actors did too Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/08/23 Full Review Daniel W Some of the jokes made me chuckle slightly but overall the film was very slow. And some of the jokes aren't funny at all, for example when Paxton (Chiwetel Ejiofor) is locked down in his flat he decides to go out and read poetry to his neighbours, but that would have worked better if they had cast a stand up comedian and gotten him to do a bit of stand up in the street. I also like heist films that make me say, "ooo that was clever, I really like the way they did that." But when it came to the heist it was not clever and even an idiot could have done this heist. I would give it 4/10 - Overall it was a bit boring, but maybe there are some goodish bit that you could fast forward to. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/08/23 Full Review sonny p It's 30 minutes of tedium, followed by an hour thirty of prominent (if fleeting) cameos and strong performances. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/22/23 Full Review Lucas G My experience was ruined by Minda Kaling's performance. She's truly horrible and needs to find a new job far away from this! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Thomas J Minda Kaling's performance ruined this movie. Hope she doesn't get casted for another role again! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Emilie N Seeing the incredible cast line up, I kept watching thinking it must get better at some point. Nearly unbearable to finish, the ending is comically awful. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Wenlei Ma News.com.au Despite some decent performances from Hathaway and Ejiofor, Locked Down often feels as monotonous as lockdown itself. Rated: 2/5 Jun 5, 2021 Full Review Jake Wilson The Age (Australia) The film is a striking and unexpected experiment -- and before we get to the fanciful ending, the long build-up conveys a recognizable feeling of marking time. Rated: 3.5/5 May 12, 2021 Full Review Mark Kermode Kermode & Mayo's Film Review Kinda fun with good chemistry, but utterly disposable... Mar 16, 2021 Full Review Jason Flatt But Why Tho? A Geek Community Locked Down may be very of-the-moment, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t good for the moment. I can’t imagine tolerating much of the film in a post-COVID world, but for now, Hathaway and Ejiofor are excellent... Rated: 8.5/10 Jan 16, 2023 Full Review Victoria Luxford City AM Going from mean-spirited relationship comedy to a heist film is an awkward jump even if everything works, but despite having a backdrop that everyone can relate to Locked Down ends up feeling removed from its audience. Rated: 2/5 Mar 1, 2022 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews The heist story is too heavy-handed to be remembered or valued. Rated: B- Jan 11, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews
