Peacock, the NBCUniversal-owned streaming service, has become known as a go-to destination for sports fans. And in May, the streamer has another strong lineup of live sporting events. Here are the four most interesting sporting events coming to Peacock next month, in my humble opinion:
The Kentucky Derby and Preakness
As the child of NBC, Peacock will be the exclusive streaming home of NBC Sports’ broadcasts of The Kentucky Derby and Preakness, the first two legs of horse racing’s annual Triple Crown. Fierceness is the current favorite at 5-2 to take home the Roses this Saturday in Kentucky but look out for Sierra Leone, currently at 3-1. May 4 and 18.
Indianapolis 500
Peacock again benefits from its corporate parent with the streaming exclusive to the annual speedfest from Indianapolis on May 26. Alex Palou, Pato O’Ward and Josef Newgarden are considered the favorites to take the checkered flag.
English Premier League Championship Sunday
Also known as Survival Sunday, May 19 will feature 10 final matches to determine who walks off with the league’s championship, which is awarded by total points accumulated during the 2023/24 season. Peacock will stream all 10 games for the second straight year.
Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships
NBC will host the 2024 Paris Olympics this summer so Peacock has been the home of numerous pre-Olympic events this year. On May 30 through June 2, the U.S. Gymnastics Championships from Fort Worth, Texas will determine the national men’s and women’s teams which will compete for the final spots at the U.S. Olympic team trials in late June.
