The full version of this concert, it was released in 2010 in an abridged version as Live in Los Angeles. This is the one to grab though for all the extra tracks. Great stuff but a lot of redundancy because he tends to play the same songs every set. But you can't go wrong with this.

How much of my money do you want? He's released this three times. First as a 4 song ep, then on an expanded CD with most of the show and now the entire show. You could have saved us time and money and just released the whole thing to begin with. I've bought every one. This is the issue to have. While it took a few years to get here it's worth it. An outstanding McCartney show recorded at a record store. Now that's cool. An excellent live show from Macca and his band.

As 2009 drew to a close Paul McCartney released a live album commemorating his tour, Good Evening New York City. It was properly big with 2 compact discs and 1 DVD. Well recorded and well performed with a fairly good setlist. It wasn't unlike other live albums he's done over the years. A worthy addition to any McCartney collection.
Now, just a few months later, McCartney releases Live in Los Angeles. Recorded in 2007 at Amoeba Records in front of about 1000 people, this was initially released as a 4 song EP titled Amoeba's Secret. In January, 2010 McCartney made more of the show available on CD for free in London's Daily Mail Newspaper and then imported for sale in the U.S. In 2019, McCartney released the full show as Amoeba Gig.
As nice as Good Evening New York City is, Live in Los Angeles is, in many ways, far superior. McCartney and his crack band seem to really enjoy the atmosphere of playing in record store for a much smaller crowd. The performances are a little more in your face and a bit punchier. The crowd seems a little more rowdy and that energy comes back to the band in strong performances of "Only Mama Knows", "Drive My Car" and "I Saw Here Standing There" along with a killer version of "C Moon".
There's a bit more grit to the production of Live in Los Angeles than on Good Evening New York City too, as well as other live albums such as Paul is Live and Tripping The Live Fantastic.
At only 40 minutes, it's hard to say it's a better live document than these bigger, more elaborate, more polished live records but, perhaps, the conciseness of Live in Los Angeles works in its favor by not being drawn out so much over 2 CD's/3 LP's.
There's a couple of great asides from Paul including an exhortation not to shoplift! It's a fun release and very enjoyable and to me one of the best live McCartney CD's to be released.

A much more complete live album of the Amoeba gig than the four-track EP released last year on CD. It is even very surprising that such great versions of Lady Madonna, Get Back or the very moving Here Today were not included in the former EP instead of the 257th live version of I Saw Her Standing There.
The version of Here Today where you can hear Paul holding back his tears is very touching. I cannot make up my mind though whether he thought about John or Linda when he sang this song on that day.
The sound also is so much better here than on the live stadium recordings. It is very dense and there is less "echo".
For me, it's Macca's best live record since the 1979 Cambodia concert (which we still wait to be released on CD).
