Joe had mellowed with age but he still kicked butt!!! He knocked my socks off at Woodstock which was the first time I saw him and he still had almost the same energy as always in this DVD. His shows had gotten more polished and his band and back up singers were all first class. He still had the best scream in the Rock and Roll world right up until the end. Every time he did it the hair on the back of my neck would just stand on end. I will be a fan until my end. Best cut, "My Love is Alive"!!

If I was rating this by performance only then I would have to give it a 5. The Allman Brothers were really hot at this stage in their career, reforming after a lacklustre period at the end of the 80's. Warren Haynes is a suburb guitarist and Dickey Betts had to pull out all stops to show he was just as good (and he certainly was in this concert).

The video quality is poor. The sound is also poor with little top end or bass. I found that increasing the bass on my receiver (something I rarely do) helped. Use the 2.0 mix, not the "5.1" mix. The sound is basically mono. If you have an amp/receiver that can simulate a hall or other surround mode from a mono source then use it, as it will help fill out the sound.

Don't be put off by another reviewer who gave this DVD only 1 star. You will be buying it for a first class performance by the Allman Brothers at a peak period in their career and the video/audio quality is of less importance. Think of it as a classic b&w movie or a classic 78 rpm record - performance outweighs everything else.

I love Bonnie Tyler, her performances, and her voice is nothing less than special. However this DVD was sent in a format that none of my DVD, CD, or Blue Ray including my new Quad computer will not recognize... What good is it. Up to know I have loved buying DVD performances Via Amazon, no question, however I paid for this with anticipation of hours of enjoyment, what I received was total disappointment. Some one should have posted that it was a odd ball format that can't be fixed. Don't buy for use in America...

Given the poor quality of the video I could not rate the thing 5 stars...but the performance, and Dickey Betts' playing in particular, is on FIRE and well worth the money to any ABB fan...I've seen the band probably 30 times and this was Dickey Betts just absolutely playing his as* off. Awesome.

There's some power in Bonnie Tyler's voice that really releases the song. No female singer since Janis Joplin has used this kind of rasping, wild delivery to such effect, except Tina Turner in a slightly different mode, and the material suits her brilliantly. There are some changes from some of the recorded versions, showing how into the songs she is - you can feel that she really loves this music, and the band are completely with her. She also looks great - you wouldn't imagine the voice to be like it is from her carefully styled presentation, which adds to the effect. The audience, on the other hand, is a bit of a let-down, showing a certain lack of spark, and there don't seem to be very many of them. The lighting compensates, wrapping it all up in a suitably atmospheric bluish haze. The biggest problem is a square box in the top left corner of the letterbox image, saying 'Bonnie Tyler - live', which is stuck there for the 45-minute duration. It is completely pointless, as if advertising something you have already bought. Nevertheless the DVD is worth getting for fans and those curious to see the reality on stage of those extraordinary vocals.
