Editorial Reviews

The musical accomplishments of Atlanta-based singer-songwriter Shawn Mullins include a dozen self-produced records, two Number One charting songs, a GRAMMY nomination and thousands of live performances. Soul's Core, his first major label album, was released in 1998 and scored a Number One hit with the song "Lullaby". The album eventually went Platinum, paving the way for an anthology of his early work released in 1999. In 2000, Mullins released the official follow-up to Soul's Core, Beneath the Velvet Sun. His Vanguard Records label debut, 9th Ward Pickin Parlor, came in 2006 and included the radio hit and fan favorite "Beautiful Wreck". His sophomore Vanguard album, Honeydew, was released in March of 2008. Live At The Variety Playhouse is the first live release from Shawn Mullins and is a Greatest Hits of sorts, featuring all of his biggest songs.
