George Martin homes in on 007's narcotics booty call with John Barry away on leave. Immediately reunited with Paul McCartney for a sizzling opener, 'Live and Let Die' matches the venom of 'Helter Skelter' with some of McCartney's quasi-romantic leanings Wings had teased out of him; not only the quintessential anthem for Moore era Bond, it proved the adage 'There's no place like home', Martin carrying a satisfied look in the recording booth. Strangely, George doesn't ever test himself beyond what’s needed, re-jigging Monty Norman's Bond theme into funky interludes that dress up boat chases, non-standard executions, or having some old fashioned fun on hard to resist 'San Monique'. 'Snakes Alive' and 'Baron Samedi's Dance of Death' scored two of the film's most memorable moments, leaving Bond in good hands until the other J.B. returned.

I really enjoy this album because it is (to me) the first real jazz album for James Bond. It's just got some very interesting renditions of the "James Bond Theme" and is just a nice jazz album to have. I picked it up at an old record shop and have enjoyed it a lot.
