I know most people don't appriciate the reviews I do, so I don't expect anyone to appriciate this one. I'm doing this review for me. I'll be reviewing the russian version that's couples with Rock'N'Roll. This CD is 79+ minutes. Each album is almost exactly 40 minutes with Live Peace being 41 and Rock'N'Roll being 39. The Russian 2CD contains every note of both albums. Here is the track listings. LIVE PEACE IN TORONTO - 1969: 1. [Introduction of the Band &] Let's Hope for Peace 2. Blue Suede Shoes 3. Money [That's What I Want] 4. Dizzy Miss Lizzy 5. Yer Blue[s] 6. Cold Turkey 7. Give Peace a Chance 8. Don't Worry Kyoko [Mummy's Only Looking for Her Hand in the Snow] 9. John John [Let's Hope for Peace] ROCK'N'ROLL 10. Be-Bop-A-Lula 11/2. Stand By Me 12/3. A) Rip it Up B) Read[y] Teddy 13/4. You Can't Catch Me 14/5. Ain't That a Shame 15/6. Do You Want to [/Wanna] Dance[?] 16/7. Sweet Little Sixteen 17/8. Slippin' and Slidin' 18/9. Peggy Sue 19/10. A) Bring it on Home to Me B)Send Me Some Lovin' 20/11. Bon[e]y Moronie 21/12. Ya Ya 22/13. Just Because. The stuff in brackets is CD information I know to be correct, but is not on the CD anywhere. The track numbers in slashes are cd player track number/liner notes track number. The track listings in the CD art are seperated by album, but not in your CD player. The version of Live Peace on here does contain the first track "Introduction of the Band," but that track is combined with "Let's Hope for Peace." The much hated Yoko side of Live Peace is a true side. "Don't worry Kyoko" (5min) and "John John" (13min) is difficult for the uninitiated. But in all fairness at that point in the CD, you've only been lestening for 20 minutes, so really, how low is your paitence if you can't get through that? I think the bad aspect is reduced when you know you've got 39 minutes of classic rock via John Lennon right on her tail. This is a great version. The only bad thing about this twofer is that since Rock'N'Roll was remastered, reissued with extra tracks, the version you're hearing now won't be the best version but if you've ever heard unremastered music from 30 years ago0, you know exactly what this'll sound like. This doesn't obviously have the four bonus tracks (Angel Baby/To Know Her is to Love Her/Since My Baby Left Me/Just Because (Reprise)) because this was released significantlly before that remastered version was released. Oh, and the sound quality on Live Peace is a touch better than the sound quality on Sometime in New York, but basically equivalent. I'm sure you'll like the superfly Russian Federation graphics (joining the h in john with the l in lennon was awesome! Yay British Racing Green!) and trying to figure out what the angry-looking Russian says on the bottom of the CD. This can play in all non-POS CD players. If this helped, please say so.

Excelente producto muy bueno para los amantes de la música

For whatever reason this album popped into my head the other day. I looked it up and sure enough, there are copies on Amazon so I ordered it. It's the tale of two sides.
Side one is beyond awesome. Lennon and his band (with Clapton on guitar) rip through six tracks of raw and bluesy rock and roll. It's not all that complex. The band hadn't played together so they were kind of restricted. However you still find yourself listening to one kick ass rock album. From "Blue Suede Shoes" to Lennon Beatles standards from the early days "Dizzy Miss Lizzy" and "Money". "Yer Blues" is followed by "Cold Turkey" which was new at the time about Lennon's struggles quitting smack. Then it's in to "Give Peace A Chance" and that's unfortunately anything resembling music ends.
Side two is about 20 minutes of Yoko screaming away. I forced myself once to listen to it all when I first heard the album on vinyl. I didn't last 2 minutes upon listening to the CD. Yoko ruined a lot of great Lennon albums. When ripping them to MP3, I've mastered the art of deleting all her tracks. A move I suggest.
So I give 5 stars because I refuse to acknowledge the negatives of this album. The positives are much to awesome to ignore. Shell out the dough and enjoy some solid rock.

I, like many others who've reviewed this, cannot enjoy Yoko's music, but Lennon often forced you to buy her stuff if you wanted to buy his. This live set is worth having for the half of the program that made up side one of the original vinyl album. John threw together a band at the last minute, consisting of Eric Clapton, Klaus Voormann,Alan White, and he & Yoko. Although raw and under-rehearsed, John successfully leads his ad-hock band through rock and roll oldies (Blue Suede Shoes, Money, Dizzy Miss Lizzy) , a Beatles original (Yer Blues) and two of his solo songs (Cold Turkey and Give Peace A Chance). Unfortunately for those like me who can't consider Yoko Ono's vocalizations to be music, this album nose dives quickly into the rubble. The two songs Yoko performs make one quickly forget the joy of the good old fashioned rock & roll that made up the first half of this album. "Don't Worry Kyoko (Mummy's Only Looking For Her Hand In The Snow)" is about 6 minutes of Yoko howling over a tune that sounds quite a bit like "Wake Up Little Susie". The last song, "John John (Let's Hope For Peace)" is the sonic equivalent of tortured cats screeching while people run their fingers along a chalk board. As bad as the Yoko songs are, this set is absolutely essential for the Lennon collector. The remastering job here is pretty good. A DVD is available of this concert, called "Sweet Toronto".

A nostalgic ode to my youth, Lennon's first (I believe) non-Beatles album from 1969, where he, Clapton, and Klaus Voorman got together and jammed in Toronto. It showcase two thing: Lennon's voice live (I always considered his voice to be one of the greats in Rock and Roll, and Yoko Ono, who's voice....I don't. "Don't Worry Kyoko (Mummy's only Looking for Her Hand in the Snow)" had me laughing in my car, it is so late 60's performance art terrible it's funny. I still couldn't listen to the whole thing, mind you. Recommended for those tripping down memory lane, not Lennon's best, but fun, complete with memories.

The REAL Plastic Ono Band - before it got slick, commercial, and Specterfied. This record and the first solo album with Ringo on the drums are two of the best records John Lennon ever made! 👍🌵😇🌲🌅

The CD came in perfect condition & all, but I have to stop it when Yoko Ono starts her screaming!!! She sounds like a cat with it's tail stuck under a rocking chair!!!! I think my ears bled!

" Live " in Toronto...1969
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 29, 2016
It's the Plastic Ono Band....let's be realistic....it's John Lennon with help from Eric Clapton on lead guitar, Klaus Voorman on bass guitar, Alan White on drums, and Yoko Ono ( screams ) . I'm only reviewing the first six songs which are the ones which John sing: Blue Suede Shoes, Money, Dizzy Miss Lizzy, Yer Blues, Cold Turkey, and Give Peace A Chance. Considering this was a 1969 " Live Out-Door Concert " the sound is remarkable. You can actually " hear " John's rhythm guitar, in addition to the bass & drums. John tears thru the old Carl Perkins song ' Blue Suede Shoes ' before blasting into ' Money ' and then he tears up the old Larry Williams song Dizzy Miss Lizzy. John then plays one of his own songs from the Beatles White Album called Yer Blues and we also hears some fine rhythm guitar from John. Next, John plays his newest single, " Cold Turkey " which was great. John ended his part of the show with a rousing version of Give Peace a Chance. I still have my original vinyl copy of this but the sound of this cd is even better. A...Must Have...for all...John Lennon fans.

A Real Mixed Bag (no pun)
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on April 19, 2006
In the LP days, when I originally bought this, it made sense.
You could play the raucous, raw rock n roll of the first side and never need to listen to the screeching of a nameless band member on Side Two. This person also makes some noise on side one, but it's mainly drowned out by John and Eric's guitars.
Seriously, you have to have the first six songs because John's in fine voice, the songs are great and the (un-rehearsed!) band is just right. I love Eric's 'Yer Blues' solo when he suddenly runs out of ideas and fretboard!
If it was released as a six track CD, with the 'deletion bonus' of no **** tracks, this would get five and a half!
