A long term time ago rock n roll music was just fun. it wasnt meant to be scrutinized like it has been for the past 35 plus years. ringo is from the period where the music was light and fun. in some ways he still carries the beatle mystique on this cd. the music is fun, recorded well and even just listening to it brings back to me that simpler era. good job ringo and the roundheads. its too bad if what the other reviewer said is true of the split. the roundheads helped revitalize ringos career. i cant wait to hear Liverpool 8. by the way, wheres the dvd for this show?

The Live At Soundstage Deluxe Edition contains the same CD as the regular edition plus a DVD containg interviews and four live performances. For some reason, Amazon does not make this clear. And, oddly enough, the Deluxe Edition now costs a dollar less on Amazon that the regular edition! If you don't already own the regular edition, then this is a really good deal. Even if you already own the regular edition, you may want this one for the DVD extras. The performances by Ringo and the Roundheads are tighter than his live work with the All-Starr Bands. See the reviews of the regular edition for details on the music. It's a fun set to own.

This is a great album of Ringo material live! I particularly like this one because it is all Ringo and not another All Star Band live album. I love Ringo and his music and it is great to hear a full set of Ringo songs. All the classics are here, Photograph, Don't Pass Me By, With a little help from my Friends, If you are a fan of Ringo and his music I would highly recommend this one. This one and live one from VH1 rank as my two favorite Ringo live CD's and considering how many live albums there are that is saying a lot! Grab it now and rock out with Ringo.

This concert is from when Ringo had his band The Roundheads. Since Ringo and The Roundheads no longer exist, I wish Ringo would mix up his setlist with The All-Starr Band like he did with The Roundheads with more solo songs from his many solo albums over the years. That said, this concert is an ALL RINGO set, as all Roundheads concerts were. That alone makes this a 5 Starr album.

A fun CD for sure! 8 of the 14 tracks were originally recorded by The Beatles, and the others are gems from Ringo's solo career, including the tribute "Never Without You" written for George Harrison. Ringo's band sounds great. Granted it is not the full show that was recorded for PBS, and that is somewhat disappointing, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. But the recording is well mixed and clean, and Ringo plays many of his best songs.

Ringo Starr has released almost as many concert albums as he has studio recordings. But the 2007 LIVE AT SOUNDSTAGE, to my knowledge, is only Starr's second live release with his band the Roundheads; his other concert C.D.s came from the All-Starr tours he's done since 1989.
Ringo and the Roundheads did this live show in 2005, which was their eighth year writing and recording together. The relationship shows, as LIVE AT SOUNDSTAGE offers crackerjack versions of "Octopus's Garden," "Boys," "I'm The Greatest," "With A Little Help From My Friends," "I Wanna Be Your Man," "Choose Love" and "Photograph." The last band with whom Ringo Starr recorded for eight years was the Beatles.
In fact, the LIVE AT SOUNDSTAGE take of "I'm The Greatest" shows Ringo Starr's sense of humor rubbing off on the Roundheads: The lyrics have Starr singing, "I'm only 32," his age when he recorded the song three decades earlier. But for this 2005 rendition, the Roundheads reply, "plus 32" when Ringo, age 64, sings that line.
I have seen several Ringo Starr shows and LIVE AT SOUNDSTAGE is the fourth of his concert albums I own. Has Starr ever sung all the words to "It Don't Come Easy," his post-Beatles signature song? He seems to regularly omit the "Forget about the past and all your sorrows" and "Open up your heart, let's come together" parts, instead singing the "Peace remember peace" part two extra times. I don't ask for much, I only want all the words to Starr's greatest composition.
This long-time Ringo Starr fan would still like live recordings of "Oh My My," "Only You," "Goodnight Vienna," and "In My Car." I am not even sure if Starr has ever performed those songs in concert. But then, he's only 32, plus 32.

An immaculate performance of all His signature hits. The Roundheads are rocking! They're delivering the new magnificent beat to these fabulous tunes. And Ringo feels first-class with such a back-up. Amazing rock n' roll sound! Highly recommend to all who recognize the Starr's name.

Besonders herausragend sind Octopus' Garden, Don't Pass Me By, und Never Without You - allesamt in super Live-Qualität.
