Welcome to LREI. We pride ourselves on being a progressive pre-K through twelfth grade school. But what do we mean by progressive education? And why is this important?
Simply put, progressive education works with a child's natural inquisitiveness and desire to do, to collaborate and to be involved. Progressive education asks students to truly understand a topic and to demonstrate and to defend their understanding. It asks them to think beyond the page, beyond the "right answer".
There has never been a more critical time to be a critical thinker. When answers can be searched for in seconds, asking the right question is what counts. Living by core values is what matters. Our progressive program equips students with confidence to discern fact from slant, and to contribute to society in a meaningful way.

Overall, LREI has some amazing teachers, classes, and people. However, there are issues with the administration surrounding prejudice and bullying. A lot of students are entitled and use their parents money to get ahead. Small classes and school spirit are a strongpoint.
The middle school seems to prioritize and accommodate children who are rude and disruptive in the classroom over children who are well-behaved. Those students throw things, bully, threaten, and are rude to the teachers. There is minimal or no discipline or consequences for these disruptive kids. The administration is completely ineffective and goes out of their way to accommodate them under the guise of "progressive education". We pulled our child after a year because she was learning nothing. Send your kids elsewhere if your child is well-behaved and wants to learn. This is a school for disruptive, entitled children who bear no consequences for their actions.
My child had a great experience at Little Red. There is a warm and collaborative environment, his teachers have all been superb and he was equally challenged and supported academically. He loved the sports and the arts programs offered at the school, and he has thrived in college due to the experience he had at Little Red.
