Acting career
Brown first became widely known for her role on “Guiding Light,” beginning in 1980. She played Nola Reardon Chamberlain, and her relationship with Quint Chamberlain, played by Michael Tylo (1948–2021), was a highlight of the show for its early ‘80s fans. Brown played Nola through 1985 and returned from 1995 to 1998, as well as briefly in 2009. After leaving her first stretch as Nola, Brown was cast on “As the World Turns,” playing Iva Snyder through 1994. Prior to her fame on “Guiding Light,” Brown has a small role on “Loving,” and she later worked as an acting coach for “Guiding Light” and “One Life to Live.” Brown also had a role in “42nd Street” on Broadway in the 1980s.
