IB exams take place between April 25th and May 17th and a link to the IB Testing Schedule can be found HERE.  

Nearly all IB exams take place over two days and consist of multiple different “papers.” This is reflected on the schedule by #1/ #2/#3  - which stands for “Paper 1,” “Paper 2” or “Paper 3.”  Students must take all “papers” (just a fancy word for exam) in order to receive a grade from IB. 

Only juniors and seniors are eligible to take IB exams.

All exams (with the exception of those listed in red) take place at the Tiffany Center, a short walk from LHS on 14th and Morrison.

The 2024-25 forecasting information for current LHS students can be found HERE. Students must complete a forecasting form, have parent's sign the form and complete forecasting on Synergy. Forecasting is due January 12th.

Here are two steps that will be helpful to know. Note: Per district policy it is the parent's responsibility to clear unexcused absences within three school days or 72 hours of the absence or the absence(s) will remain unexcused

Present/Future Full Day

Log in to the ParentVUE website on your computer or download and open the phone application. In either case, look for the "Report Absence" button to the right of your student's photograph. Select start date and the end date (if more than 1 school day) and then a reason from a drop-down list. Add a note if needed. Remember to click SAVE and you should receive a popup confirmation.

Partial/Past Day

Go to Lincoln High School's main webpage (if you are reading this you are already there) and click on the red button with the Cardinal in flight on the right side of the page. It will take you to a Google form that will ask for your email, student ID, name, date of absence, partial (arrive late, leave early, out and back in) and a few other related questions.

If you need to pick your child up early for a doctor’s appointment or other reason, please fill out the Google attendance form using the BIG RED BIRD BUTTON on Lincoln's homepage. For any other questions on attendance, contact lincolnattendance@pps.net.

The district's robo-call goes out to parents twice a day as a reminder when students do not attend class. Please be patient, if you have already submitted a form, as it takes time to process through Synergy. You can always verify that the correction was made by looking in ParentVue the next day.

All students at Portland Public High Schools have PPS student email. Students usernames are first initial, last name, last four digits of their student ID.
 
Use PPS email to contact teachers and classmates, logging in with your username@student.pps.net account at email.pps.net.

Even as a small child, Miranda Yesser possessed a keen understanding of the mercenary nature of the publishing industry. 

According to her one-page, tongue-in-cheek author bio, which hangs on a clothesline in English teacher Dr. Holly Graham’s colorful classroom, “Yesser began writing books at a young age, then trying to sell them to her family for 5 dollars a copy.”

It might be time to scoop those copies up. Miranda recently received honorable mention in the annual Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for her short story, “Youth.”

Students who took their first steps into PPS kindergarten classrooms in 2014 – the year Portland’s first-ever arts education tax went into effect – are now thriving sophomores.

Evan Sampson is one of those sophomores, and he will have a chance to share his story at this year’s HeART of Portland, a showcase spotlighting the artistic accomplishments of some PPS’s most talented students.

The two-week celebration of creativity will take place from April 16-28 at the Portland Art Museum. All exhibits and performances are free and open to the public.

This weekend, the Lincoln and Grant high school constitution teams will compete in the annual We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution National Finals in Washington, D.C. 

Now in its fifth decade, the event brings together students from all 50 states for a series of mock congressional hearings on everything from the Constitutional Convention of 1787 to the separation of powers and the future of democracy. 

The Lincoln and Grant constitution teams, under the instruction of Patrick Magee-Jenks and Angela DiPasquale respectively, have long histories of taking home trophies on both the state and national level.

First, the end of this school year will still be June 14 for K-11 students, and it will be May 31 for seniors.
Second, next year’s bell schedules will change for many students.
Beginning next school year, we added 15 instructional minutes for elementary and middle school students and provided all middle school students with a seven-period day. Accommodating these changes while supporting 410 minutes per week of teacher planning time and aligning our transportation systems requires us to adopt common start and stop times.
