Disappointed that going into i Iraq was totally omitted!
Reviewed in the United States on September 21, 2013Verified Purchase
This book made me sad and angry at the same time. I was appalled, by the fact , a huge segment of history was omitted. How could LIFE, skip the fact that George W. Bush sent thousands of our young men and women into Iraq first. I was flipping thru pages, hoping I was mistaken. I hope "LIFE" was not trying to re-write history. Our young sons and daughters went FIRST, to Iraq because of 911. Yet page 106, and especially the page before it makes it apoearcas though we went first into Afghanistan. It appears to be an attempt to re-write history. It is even a greater injustice to our soldiers who served in Iraq. They were totally ignored. This book is as if the Iraq war did not exist. There should be a recall on this book. It is a misrepresentation of what happened. It is disrespectful to mention "into Afghanistan", in reference to 911, before mentioning Going into Iraq. I am not encouraging anyone to purchase this book. I am so upset, when I think of all the soldiers who gave their lives in Iraq. Shame on you "LIFE BOOKS". This would not have anything to do with the fact that G. W.Bush, wrote the preface would it? When a generation has witnessed this history, how dare you try to change it in our faces. The same time I ordered this book, I ordered another book, written by photo journalist. In the book, they were speaking of how some people are trying to change the facts if what happened, even by docturing some photos. It is why photo journalist are proud of their work because it's authentic. I will never trust any book put out by "LIFE ".
