Liam Neeson suffers heartache as his mother Katherine 'Kitty' dies one day before his 68th birthday
Liam Neeson's mother Katherine 'Kitty' Neeson has passed away, just one day before the actor's 68th birthday.
Kitty, who was in her 90s, died on Saturday in her home town of Ballymena in Country Antrim, Northern Ireland.
The announcement of her death was made at mass at All Saints Church in Ballymena, with the service broadcast on Facebook due to the regulations surrounding coronavirus.

Ballymena Daily reports the Parish Priest, Monsignor Paddy Delargy, said of her passing: 'We pray for those that died recently….and Kitty Neeson. Her funeral arrangements will be later.'
While the Mayor of Mid & East Antrim Borough Council, Cllr Peter Johnston, added: 'Very sorry to hear this news.

Kitty is said to have lived in Ballymena’s Broughshane Road for quite some time, with Liam being a Freeman of the borough.

As well as the Taken actor, cook Kitty also had children Elizabeth, Bernadette, and Rosaleen with husband Bernard 'Barney' Neeson.

The sad news comes just one day before movie star Liam turns 68.
Kitty's passing comes 11 years after Liam's wife Natasha Richardson tragically died in a skiing accident in Canada.
Relatives of the 45-year-old actress made the heartbreaking decision to switch off her life support machine in 2009 after saying their final goodbyes after doctors told them there was no hope.
An autopsy concluded that Natasha, who took a tumble during a skiing lesson, had died from a build-up of blood in the brain known as an epidural haematoma.
