Responsibilities & Services

The Lewiston Public Library provides resources and services to meet the cultural, educational, and information needs of children, teens, adults, seniors, families, and organizations in our city.

The library’s mission is broad in scope and identifies the three major overall goals for the department. This mission is carried out in collaboration with a wide variety of community partners - the many educational and cultural institutions working to address similar community needs.

The Library Board of Trustees has adopted the following six service responses for the library to follow in carrying out the mission:
