- pawel_hbgSopot, Poland9,999 contributionsThe Cathedral of Saint Apostles Peter and Paul in Legnica is located at Cathedral Square in Legnica. The present building was erected between 1333 and 1380 and a chapel was added in the fifteenth century. In the late nineteenth century the church was converted into the neo-Gothic style. Over the centuries the church has acquired numerous statues and decorative features and now is one of the most impressive cathedrals like that in Poland. Even pope John Paul II who come from Poland visited the cathedral on June 2, 1997.Written July 1, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pawel_hbgSopot, Poland9,999 contributionsThe Piast Castle is one of the most important buildings in the city. For over 750 years it was the seat and the symbol of territorial power: Piast dukes, Habsburg starosts, Prussian and German regional offices- I was really amazed it is so interesting. Especially I liked courtyard of the castle.Written July 1, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- pawel_hbgSopot, Poland9,999 contributionsThe house is located in the central part of the Market Square (nr 37) from the so-called Small Market. - pawel_hbgSopot, Poland9,999 contributionsThe beginnings of the construction of St. Mary church in Legnica date back to the second half of XII century when prince Bolesław the High built a aisleless, wooden church so it is one pf oldest churches in Poland. In 1192, a stone church was built on the site of the previous one, which was destroyed in 1338 because of a fire. Unfortunately I was too late to visit it precisely but it looks really impressive.Written July 1, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pawel_hbgSopot, Poland9,999 contributionsThe Old Town district of Legnica has a city market square with a Baroque Town Hall in its middle. Maybe it is not the most beautiful city square like that but still you can find a lot of interesting architecture.Written July 1, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pawel_hbgSopot, Poland9,999 contributionsThe fountains of Neptune and Mermaid, known as the Mermaid, located in the Market Square, are the oldest fountains in Legnica. Neptune's Fountain is situated between the cathedral and the Old Town Hall. Originally, there was a water intake in this place, supplied from the municipal water supply, supplied from the water tower over the Młynówka. From 1588 there was a fountain here, the main element of which was the figure of the goddess Cerez. However, it did not survive the seventeenth-century fires of the city. The current Baroque Neptune Fountain has been in operation since 1731.Written July 1, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nate RSycamore, IL534 contributionsIf these walls could talk there would be some stories to tell from the past 400 or so years. The Legnica Cultural Center is a multi use building with offices and a school of music. There are concerts and other events hosted here, especially up in the grand ball room. If you have a chance to explore the halls you will find photos of the terrible condition from when the Soviets left the place. Now you can see how much work has gone into restoration to it's current state.Written August 14, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
