Reviews
Always sensed some bitterness towards Lydon/PiL on this LP. Title 'Betrayal' , 'WOB' label as a piss-take on the 'PiL' label, the PiL track 'Another' nicked,slightly remixed and retitled 'Not Another' featuring an uncredited Keith Levene and Martin Atkins....
Did Wobble leave PiL or was he sacked?, seems like the latter...
the master used for this cd runs slightly fast, still awesome though :-)- Fantastic album. Really out there and weird, but with a deep, groovy beat. It sounds futuristic even today. Similar deconstructionist approach to the early Devo, but a little bit less whimsical and more dour. It's a good companion piece to the PIL album Metal Box/Second Edition, as the material was apparently recorded around the same time, and perhaps even at the same place.
- the last track Pineapple on my original first pressing bought the week it came out is edited by a fade out to 3:35.
