Lee Ann Womack had the best reaction to Kelly Clarkson’s cover of one of her classic 1990s tracks. The original American Idol champ once delivered her rendition of “Never Again, Again” during the “Kellyoke” segment of her daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. The show re-shared the clip of the performance on Tuesday (July 26), and, with a wink, Womack declared that it “never gets old.” The 1997 song demonstrates the narrator returning to an old flame, portraying an on-again-off-again relationship. In the end, the subject knows they’ll say, “never again…again.”

“And here comes never again, again / Once more I'll let you back in / And just like it's always been / I’ll say never again, again / And just like it's always been / I’ll say never again, again”

Clarkson routinely puts her own spin on beloved songs spanning the decades in all genres as part of the fan-favorite segment on her show. In addition to Womack, Clarkson has covered songs by Terri Clark (“Better Things To Do”), Brooks & Dunn (“Boot Scootin’ Boogie”), Ronnie Milsap (“Smoky Mountain Rain”), Keith Urban (“Raining On Sunday”), Maren Morris (“RSVP”), Kelsea Ballerini (“Peter Pan”), Dolly Parton (“Jolene”) and many more.
