      Critics Consensus

Amy Adams is as appealing as ever, but her charms aren't enough to keep Leap Year from succumbing to an overabundance of clichés and an unfunny script.

Sara B One of my go to, feel good movies. Beautiful setting. Heartwarming characters. Doesn't require too much emotional investment to just enjoy. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/22/24 Full Review Ava V Amazing movie, definitely watch! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/09/24 Full Review purrfectly w I love this movie, it's a great re-watchable movie that always makes me smile. The co-stars are a great match as their chemistry builds perfectly and realisitcally, the story is rich with Irish culture and country side, which I never get tired of seeing. It hits all the right notes for a rom-com but with the Irish theme it stands well above most in this genre for me. When you have a lot of the same rehashed rom-com tropes the defining element that makes one stand apart can be as simple as the location and cultural theme you use to tell the story - and they nailed with this Irish delight. That's what really sells the magic of this love story for me. The Irish characters they meet on their journey were great and the overall story telling for the lore and superstition of the area that they were in really enhances the enjoyment of watching these to two amazing actors, awkwardly fall in love. The story is very well written and the journey they go on is a blast to watch, and rewatch again. Highly recommend if you like Irish culture, rom-coms or even just these 2 amazing actors. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/17/24 Full Review bunny I don't understand the overwhelming bad reviews on this. It's probably the nostalgia that makes me love this movie so much, not anything new but it's a fun and lighthearted watch. I keep coming back to it over the years, definitely a comfort film of mine. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/29/24 Full Review Qasim R It's good movie..... Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/14/24 Full Review James B Why are there two very different ratings on RT depending on where one looks this movie up? 24% here and 93% on Spectrum and other cable providers! It's neither that bad nor that good! It's a cute romcom. The leads are very likable and believable, albeit the outcome is way too predictable.
