Ted Lasso takes fans to “Mom City” in Season 3’s penultimate episode, and in addition to Ted’s mom, Dottie (Becky Ann Baker), we also meet the woman who raised the one, the only…Jamie Tartt (Phil Dunster).

Richmond headed to Manchester in Season 3, Episode 11 for an away game that was especially emotional for Jamie. Considering he ditched the team to become a reality TV star and assumed his dad would be loudly booing him in the stands, the Richmond star was understandably anxious before stepping foot on the pitch, so he sought solace at his mum’s house and was followed by two of his biggest fans, Keeley (Juno Temple) and Roy (Brett Goldstein).

Up until this point in the series, we’d only gotten glimpses of Jamie’s horrible relationship with his father. But in a delightful twist, Tartt and his mom are absolute besties. Played by actor Leanne Best, Jamie’s mum has a straight-up shrine of her son in her home. The two are physically affectionate (to the point that Roy gets creeped out), they have a vulnerable heart-to-heart, and she even calls Jamie her “sexy little baby.”

We straight-up stan Jamie’s mum, now. So here’s everything you need to know about the actor who portrays her on screen.

Who Plays Jamie Tartt’s Mom on Ted Lasso? Meet Leanne Best

As noted, Jamie Tartt’s mum is played by Leanne Best, a 43-year-old English actor from Liverpool, UK. A fun fact about Best is that she’s the niece of former Beatle, Pete Best, but she’s a star in her own right with over 50 credits on her IMDb page. Since kickstarting her on-screen career in 2004, Best has appeared in a number of television shows and films including Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, Home Fires, Cold Feet, Young Wallander, A Town Called Malice, and more.

With just one episode left in Ted Lasso Season 3 (and potentially the entire series), it’s unlikely we’ll get to see more of Jamie and his mom’s dynamic, but we’re grateful we got to witness such hilarious, touching scenes between the two. If you want to stay up-to-date on Best’s career post-Ted Lasso, you can follow her on Instagram at @lealeabest and keep an eye out for her upcoming, post-production projects: Black Dog and Our Kid.
