Laz Alonso is an American film and television actor. He has had supporting roles in movies such as Stomp the Yard, Jarhead (his interpretation of a United States Marine in Jarhead was loosely based on a USMC classmate that lived in his dormitory in college), G, Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood and This Christmas. He played a leading role in Miracle at St. Anna and one of the main antagonists in Fast & Furious. He portrayed Tsu'tey in Avatar.
He has made television guest starring appearances on The Unit, Bones, CSI: Miami, NCIS, The Practice and Eyes. Alonso appeared in music videos by Toni Braxton & Aaliyah. Alonso also hosted shows on the BET network. After graduating from Howard University with a BBA in Marketing, he had a lucrative career as an Investment Banker at Merill Lynch on Wall Street.
Alonso was born in Washington, D.C., and is of Afro-Cuban descent. He currently resides in Los Angeles.
