Smallville's Laura Vandervoort Is Engaged: 'There Is No One I’d Rather Do Life With'

Laura Vandervoort is headed for holy matrimony!

The Smallville actress, who stars in the upcoming Hallmark Channel holiday movie Miracle in Bethlehem, PA, is engaged to Adam Coates. 

“Well… we have some news!!” Vandervoort, 39, began in an Instagram announcement on Wednesday. 

“My birthday last week became more than a celebration of another trip around the sun… it became a celebration of our forever!!!!!!! 💍 🥹 🥂,” she continued.

In the cover photo of her social media post, she and her new fiancé are seen smiling as they embrace each other for a sweet sunset kiss. Vandervoort’s ring is on full display as she passionately holds onto Coates’ face.

“There is no one I’d rather do life with. I love you @adamcoates4 Thank you for choosing me for keeps,” the Ted talent wrote. 

Vandervoort hinted that the marriage proposal with “30 friends and family” came as a complete surprise. 

“I don’t know how you got it all by me (seriously, how did you plan it all without me even noticing!?) but it was perfect,” she shared. 

Another image showed the moment Coates got down on one knee to pop the question. The photo that followed documented Vandervoort leaping into his arms.

Other adorable pictures showed the couple laughing with each other and then sitting together to take in the moment afterward. 

“Thank you friends and family who somehow kept it under wraps and made for such a beautiful home coming,” the blushing bride-to-be said about the carefully thoughtout plan. 

The last photo in the gallery showed Vandervoort and Coates kissing, this time in a large kitchen as their family and friends gathered around to toast the special occasion. 

After the initial post, she uploaded a second Instagram carousel with more sweet moments from the day with the caption, “For Keeps. 💍🥂💍.”

“Congratulations! I’m currently sitting beside you in church on set talking about me congratulating you❤️,” actor Benjamin Ayres quipped in the comment section of the post. 

Vandervoot and Ayres star in Miracle in Bethlehem, PA. She plays Mary Ann Brubeck, a woman who adopts a baby girl to raise on her own just before Christmas, according to the Hallmark Channel's synopsis.

Before sharing her proposal news, Vandervoort posted a couple of photos from the Miracle in Bethlehem, PA set taken by Ayers on Wednesday.

In the pictures, the Jigsaw actress was dressed for cooler temperatures as she held an insulated cup.  

“When that first day of fall hits & you lean in real hard 🍃 🍁 But you’re also smiling cause you’ve got a secret you can’t wait to share 🫣,” she captioned the images.

Miracle in Bethlehem, PA airs on Dec. 21 on the Hallmark Channel.
