I am a long-time fan of Lowell and the Feat. Having not seen or heard any of his solo tour, I was eager to hear this. I give this release a 3-star review because of some glaring problems. One, there is absolutely no information enclosed in the CD. No dates, no personnel (except the players mentioned by Lowell after solos), nada. All we know is that the show took place in New York City in 1979, on Lowell's last tour. Which brings me to the next problem: the editing is choppy. To abruptly cutoff "Easy Money" before the song ends is a crime. The sound is okay, not great. Now that the critique is out of the way, on to the show. It sounds like it must have been a good gig. The band is cooking and Lowell is in good voice. They played a mixture of songs from "Thanks,I'll Eat it Here" and Little feat classics.
The songs:
1. "Fat Man in the Bathtub"
2. "Honest Man"
3. "What do You want the Girl to do?"
4. "I can't Stand the Rain"
5. "Easy Money"
6. "Dixie Chicken"
7. "Willin'"
8. "Spanish Moon"
There you have it , folks. While it's great to have a "new" Lowell release, this one falls in the "for the completeist" category.
