This should have been the breakthrough album for Cibelle and it was all over the media but it seems noone ever listened to this extremely beautiful album of retro-brazil-electronica-rock. It owes as much to Devendra Banharts absurd sillyness ("Underneath the Mango Tree") as to the Tropicalia vibe of Gal Costa.
Maybe this was dismissed by the "hip crowd" as "cappucino bossa nova", while the album really was way too adventurous for the "cappucino crowd". Appealing brazil downbeat gets the smoothy treatment of lush strings in a second while at another a menacing fuzz guitar evokes 60s beat. Unforeseen twists lurk at every corner and keep the listener hooked for the whole album. Spendid sun soaked summer album between substance induced weightlessness and sultry danger!
