Saved by the Bell Revival: Lark Voorhies Set to Reprise Role as Lisa Turtle
Now all eyes are on MIA Screech.
Lark Voorhies is set to reprise her role as Lisa Turtle in Peacock‘s Saved by the Bell revival, alongside fellow legacy cast members Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack), Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly), Mario Lopez (Slater) and Elizabeth Berkley Lauren (Jessie). Her casting leaves Dustin Diamond’s Screech as the only original SBTB pupil unaccounted for in the revival.
Per Entertainment Weekly, Lisa is “thriving with a successful career in fashion,” which should come as no surprise to fans of the original teen comedy.
Back in February, Voorhies appeared on Dr. Oz to discuss her struggle with bipolar disorder. At the time, she said that no one had reached out to her to appear in the SBTB revival. “I did feel a bit slighted and hurt when I was not invited to be part of [it],” she said. “Yet, of course, I also realized that having this puzzling disorder may have played a major part in that factual decision.”
Voorhies had been a part of the SBTB franchise since its 1988 inception, when it first debuted on Disney Channel as Good Morning, Miss Bliss. She was one of four cast members (including Gosselaar, Diamond and Dennis Haskins) who made the leap to NBC when the series was reformatted as Saved by the Bell in 1989.
News of her return comes just two days after Peacock dropped the full-length trailer for the SBTB revival, which featured our first glimpse at Gosselaar’s Governor Zack Morris and Thiessen as California’s First Lady, Kelly Kapowski-Morris (watch here). All 10 episodes drop on Wednesday, Nov. 25.

Yes! Lisa was always one of my favorite parts of the show.
Really? Nobody’s going to mention how she messed her face up? She looks weird. She didn’t need to do anything she was beautiful already. I loved her she was cute n cool!! Sorry Lark!!
Maybe they’re just not as dramatic as you’re being right now? Lark has been thru a lot and has schizoaffective disorder for which she is on medication for. She’s also staring down 50 and while that’s not old, she’s no longer a teen or 20 something. She looks fine
Thank goodness, my fav show of the 90s.. and it would be nothing without Lisa or Screech. Great news, they decided to add Lisa, now to work on a possible intervention & getting Screech back.
Screech is never coming back. Surely you know why, right?
What difference does it make? Pay him A LOT less, an INSULTING amount less. Then it’s on him if he doesn’t do it. If he can be redeemed, this should be his chance. Being a child star farts people up really good. For ex…the full house Netflix show wasn’t the same without the Olson’s. In fact they could’ve done a twist where there was a twin sister separated at birth and have both of them on the show. Regardless, they were asked and they declined. Screech should be asked, and payed very little (in relation to his co-stars).
Big difference. The girls didn’t burn bridges. They just aren’t acting anymore. Dustin obliterated that bridge into non-existence.
They could actually do the same thing as Fuller House with the knowledge that Dustin Diamond would never actually be seen on the show. If in the “reality” of the show, the group remained friends (which with the addition of Lark appearing as Lisa is most likely), Screech would definitely still be in their lives. They could at least keep the character alive off screen with a mention now and then.
Good! I can get Screech’s absence, but Lisa not being back would have looked bad.
I’m very excited about this. I’m assuming its for the second season though, right? Didn’t they finish the first season already?
Even if they have, it’s possible she was part of it, and they just didn’t announce her casting until now.
Not yet renewed. This is for Season 1.
Based on the picture above it looks like she is seen in her office so my guess is that they shot her appearance after wrapping so she could be included. As far as I know it hasn’t been renewed so making casting announcements for season 2 would be premature. It is likely she gets a call from one of her friends at Bayside and what we see is probably just her end of the conversation so that the cast didn’t have to do any reshoots, but it will likely set up a return arc for season 2 if there is a second season. This is just my guess though. Lol.
She looks fantastic! I hope she’s doing well. Let’s skip Screech and work in Stacy Caruso instead.

Now, I’m willing to give the show a chance even though it doesn’t look or feel like the original SBTB. Lisa was always my favourite character and she’s one of the original characters before it became SBTB.

Lisa is my favorite. I wasn’t going to watch the reboot because she wasn’t asked to join. Now that she’s in it I wail definitely watch.

I’m so glad that Lark will be part of the show. I think it means a lot to her as well to participate. Now if they can only get Screech . It’s so wonderful seeing all the beloved characters from yesteryear . This was one of my favorite shows.

It’s great to hear that Lark Voorhies is coming back on the Saved By The Bell remake there. I remembered on the original Saved By The Bell she was so beautiful. I had a serious crush on her surely. I heard recently that she gone through problems since Saved By The Bell, but I hope that she’s gotten her life straighten out there.
I am very excited! Lark Voorhies should have been a part of it from the beginning. Love that the producers finally stepped up and had one of the original stars to be a part of this revival. It’s about time. I truly loved her character and now I can continue to enjoy her on screen. Let’s just hope she will be a regular otherwise I will have to stop watching.
