I visited with my boyfriend and my family. We all enjoyed the house tour and the self-guided tour of the grounds. All of the staff, volunteers and vendors we encountered were friendly and helpful. We learned a lot of new information during our visit even though we are local. I enjoyed seeing the animals, especially the sweet kitty.

Central market is the perfect place for a fresh, handmade lunch and dessert if you’re enjoying a walk in Lancaster. Don’t miss the Nord, a Scandinavian eatery for a great grab and go meal. They have the BEST hot dog ever! Made to order and served on a delicious brioche bun, The owners are kind, hardworking folks who put forward quality items. So good!

The theatre is larger than I expected. The sight lines are good and the seats are comfortable. The venue offers a variety of acts and many of the Sunday shows begin at 3 PM. The audience seems to arrive early, even though there is little to do inside before the doors to the room open. There could be more bathrooms.

Great small town to visit on a weekend. On Saturday, we went to the James Buchanan's Wheatland. In preparation, I read a book about James Buchanan life. It was an excellent to opportunity to learn about this president. On Sunday, we walked around downtown. There are some very nice buildings in downtown. I was impressed with the number of building in this small town.

We went to see a fantastic showing of South Pacific at this beautiful historic theater. The show was magnificent and could easily rival those in theaters in NYC. They were very accommodating for our handicapped needs and we loved the experience.

We came here with our 3.5 year old and 2.5 year old. We were impressed how nice everything was and how little kid friendly all the rides and games were. We spent the whole day there and will definitely return!

Log works, farm equipment, and crafts were very interesting. Most docents very knowledgeable and helpful. Good introductory video about Pennsylvania Dutch and founders. Clean, tidy, excellent condition, good information.

We were just visiting here to fill some gaps in our schedule and we are so glad that we did! We were greeted promptly at the door by the friendly staff. We discovered that we did not have time to see the life-size replica of the Tabernacle that day, but we did have time for a free 20 minute movie/documentary on the history and life of the Amish and Mennonite people. The movie was very informative and interesting. They have some displays upstairs as well as a large souvenir and gift shop that was extremely well stocked. We returned the following day for the Tabernacle experience and we're not disappointed! It was $10 per person and it started with an introduction by a guide before entering into the Tabernacle area. Go see this display, you won't regret it!

Our family of four had a blast here Sunday afternoon. My 5 and 8-year-olds didn't want to leave. It's one giant room so at first you think it might go pretty quickly but there's so much to do it occupied my boys for hours. They especially loved the water lab, cube robots, and the air tubes as well as the giant bubble maker and the music stage. For $12pp we felt the price was very fair. This is similar (but smaller) to the science museum in Pittsburgh but with way less crowds.

My niece, and I went to last evening’s (10/25 @ 8:30 PM) tour of After Dark: Exploring the Haunted History of Rock Ford. The curator, Samuel Slaymaker, gave us a tour which included several reported incidents of spiritual activity over the 19th century. He provided readings from 1900s LANCASTER newspapers of General Hand’s Home. We had a wonderful time and the atmosphere with the real candles, which were lighted, provided the spooky atmosphere appropriate to the tour’s theme. Looking forward to the Yuletide tours.

This visitor center was so warm and inviting. It felt warm, cozy and had a welcome home feeling. It was spacious and had much merchandise from which to choose.
Susan Joy, a tourism hostess, was very helpful. She saw that I did not have gloves and knew we were going on an hours long Amish tour on a brisk day.
She went beyond being helpful, loaning me her personal gloves. She also gave me a plastic bag to put her gloves in (to be hung on an outside rear door handle in case the visitors’ center was closed when we returned from our tour).
I thought we Southerns were hospitable! Susan, my name as well, was helpful in every way, shape and form. Stop by there and tell her that Susan from Georgia sang her praises on Trip Advisor. Thank you kindly. ❤️🤗🙏
