PESHAWAR: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday said that eight terrorists killed in Dera Ismail Khan a day ago were involved in killing of customs officials.

CTD Spokesperson the most wanted terrorist Jahanzeb, who was involved in recent attacks on customs officials, is among the dead terrorists.

He said that the dead terrorists were involved in extortion and attacks on security forces and target killing while a girl was also killed by the firing of terrorists at the customs.

CTD spokesperson said that the terrorists were planning for terrorist activity, during which the escape routes of the terrorists were blocked.

CTD officials there is fear of the presence of facilitators of terrorists in the local population and strict action is being taken against the facilitators.

Earlier, two officials of Customs were gunned down in an attack near York Toll Plaza in DI Khan, while four others sustained injuries in the gun attack.

This attack came just days after a previous one on April 18, during which six people, including five customs officials, were killed in a firing incident on the Sago Road in Daraban tehsil of the district.
